I have been told not to use paddle shift because any car who doesn't have a clutch should not be manually shifted from gear to gear. Is this correct info???

You know...I've heard this before. But my 2011 definitely doesn't do it. I've checked several times. It only tap shifts in M. You can do the tap shift or let it shift automatically in sport mode, but only when in M.
D mode is automatic only...no tap shift, no sport mode.
I have a V6/A6 with firmware 1.09 .
I wonder if it's different for V6 and V8's?

So at the risk of thread-jacking, has anyone had any problems allowing the car to downshift on it's own, when braking, while in Manual mode? Everytime I do, it downshifts into first noticably hard. It kinda concerns me

my 2011 2SS shifts in D as well

and try to downshift at a lower rpm, or lower speed, or just downshift to 2nd and downshift to 1st when u come to a stop.. that shud fix ur jerking problem or w/e.. ur probably just shifting a bit early and the car kicks u forward

Mmmmm no. If this is the case, then I'm writing GM right now and demand that they un-sabatoge my car.

So in sport mode from a stop, does the car start in first gear or second gear? I think I heard In d mode it does a second gear start. Don't have my car yet

I manual mode, yes. As you slow, the car will automatically downshift for you- all the way down to 2nd. Unless you shift down to 1st, you'll never see it in manual mode. In SPORT mode, the car will shift itself as usual (utilizing 1st gear) only it will shift harder and later.

Hate to disappoint you but there us no such thing. Short throw's are for manuals and the Hurts doesn't't have a tapshift option. At least not as of yet.

I wonder how that would work... I mean... Make the button click quicker? Maybe a touch button?
