Check out the front plate mount this company offers. It bolts onto existing hardware under the front facia. If you HAVE to have a front plate showing (thank you Florida for not needing one!) this would be the one I'd choose, I believe.

I found some pictures around the forum but I don't know if they are the same. Thanks
The factory bracket gets installed at the dealer for those states that require it. It gets drilled and attached directly to the front bumper. The factory bracket is a plastic piece contoured on the back to match up with the front bumper. Here is a really good picture of the stock mount:

More details can be found here.

My dealer in Dallas didn't have any problem not installing the front plate bracket. They left it in the trunk. I've passed many cops and no one has bothered with it.

When I lived in Oregon, I had a different car without a front plate bracket. Would have cost me $200+ to install one since they would have to remove the bumper. Since it was a fix-it ticket in OR to not have a front plate, whenever I got pulled over for it, I would just stick the bracket on with double-sided tape and show them that the plate was on, pay a $15 fine and then take the bracket off again once I left the Sheriff's office. Was cost effective to not put the plate on and just pay the fix-it tickets.

I'm wondering if not having a front plate is a fix-it ticket in Texas as well? How much is the ticket in Texas for having no front plate?

Just don't let anyone drive your car!

that pesky front plate law

Hey guys and gals, I've been lurking for a while and finally made it offical. I was a part of an old fbody forum years ago and decided it's time to get back into the game.

As a police officer in Texas I can say that the no front plate law is simply reason to stop. I can't even tell you the last time I stopped somebody for not having a front plate. If you're not doing anything stupid in front of them (excessive speed or turning your tires into dust) chances are they won't stop you. If anything, most of the guys I work with would stop for a legit reason, then just ask questions about the car.

Is having no front plate in Texas a fix-it ticket? What's the fine?

Two holes through the front fascia and one through your heart when you install that plate.

I just bought my Camaro from a guy in MO and it has a front plate. I live in Kansas and want to take it off I am afraid of what I am gonna find. Any ideas on how to hide the holes or something to use.

When I lived in Oregon, only the sheriff deputies pulled me over for the missing front plate. The local police never gave a crap. Apparently the county was looking for all the revenue they could get.

Dude, it's the law. If you do the crime you pay the dime. It's that simple. If you don't like it, start a revolution.

I personally requested the dealer to not install the front plate or else I'm not buying the car. I don't plan on running the front plates either. If I get a ticket for it, then so be it.

I've seen places online that sells these color matched rivets that pop into the holes. Better than 2 big 1" holes in the bumper.
