I did my first autocross last week in my car, and despite most of the S2000 and Miata drivers' thinking I would plow through cones all day, the car did phenomenal. I was just a second or two behind most and won my class, so with this kit I wonder how it will go the next time I hit the parking lots. Anyone else know of any good slightly cheap mods that could improve my lap times as well, other than tires of course?

the reason i want to know is that i have one but not installed yet and I'm not sure i want the extra weight if not needed.
Klatterblast,
The strut towers do move around with even regular street driving. Movement in the towers does change suspension geometry. Chevrolet sees a need for strut tower braces. They will be standard equipment on the convertible and the ZL1.

Maurdib,

Are you referring to the strut tower brace, Track Pack or something else?

If you’re asking about the strut tower brace, we have heard V6 owners installing the brace, but we have not tested it to see if it fits over the factory V6 engine cover to confirm fitment. Until we do, we can’t confirm that it fits V6 Camaros.

If you have more questions about it, please call us tool free: 1-888-735-6425

Have to say that in the past on my fox body Mustangs, I only used Hotchkis for my suspension. Great products and the quality was top notch. And also sexy to look at. I hated getting dirt on my Hotchkis suspension.

Dang, for the past two weeks I was looking at dropping a grand or so for a new sub woofer for my surround sound but now this is making them think that maybe I should order this instead. I have some thinking to do. This is a really good price for the entire package.

Thanks everyone for the nice words about our suspension products. We like to know that our customers are still happy with their purchases long after they installed Hotchkis parts on their cars. It's very important to us to get that kind of feedback. We make products for the long haul!

Yes, Hotckis is a great supplier and nice to still see them around. One of the downsides to being in any motorsport hobby for a period of time is that you buy really great products that unfortunately are made by people who hit hard times. I had a 4th Gen with a rock crusher adj torque arm with trans hoop that is no longer avail.

That said, I had a Hotchkis STB on my 1997 Trans Am that really did a good job locking the front end. I then added a Kenny Brown Double Diamond sub frame connector that made the whole car rock solid. You could jack up any corner and the whole car came up level (no flex). When I added the 6 pt roll cage, I actually wrinkled my rear quarters the first time I went WOT with race gas running through my ProCharger-force fed engine, but the frame was still rock solid.

That said, when I bought my 5th Gen, Hotchkis was one of the first suppliers I checked back to make sure were still in business. To be honest, after riding in a Level 2 SLP prepped '94 Firehawk (#318, good friend) I was planning on running their suspension.

Anyone rode in a Hothckis VS SLP similarly prepped 5th Gen?

Also, the Hotchkis STB fit above a ProCharger system in a 5th Gen?
