from the guys that were there at the start of the race there were 3 cars in front of the 1st pace car what were they?????

Tom Cruise drove the lead pace car during the start. LOL

I was screaming at the FOX announcers for not promoting the new car and my local station kept running this digital conversion banner (remind me to send them nasty gram tomorrow). So you could only see the top of the car as it went around the track.

Not only will Cruise attend, along with wife Katie Holmes, but Cruise’s ex-wife, and “Days of Thunder” co-star, Nicole Kidman will be here with husband Keith Urban, the country crooning Aussie who will perform a pre-race concert.

In recent years, the Daytona 500 pace car has been driven by baseball half-of-famer Cal Ripken Jr., talk-show host Jay Leno, and racing legend Junior Johnson. NASCAR will insist that Cruise take some laps in the Camaro Sunday morning, to make sure he’s comfortable on the track.

Also, Hendrick will ship two of his “Days of Thunder” cars to Daytona, and they will be on display during Sunday’s pre-race hours.

The Pace cars were sweet! BTW they didn't plug the 2010 gt500 either, and I have never heard them plug any Pace car really. I thought it looked good out there, and they really didn't have to say anything! Good day for the Camaro IMO. Loved seeing it out there!

Did it look to anyone else that the pace cars were sitting higher than most of the camaros we have seen? they just looked like there was alot of distance between the top of the tires and the wheelwell.
