However, the LS3 sounds great in the C6 Corvette when the baffles are opened on the exhaust (RPO NP3 I think?). Are they offering this on the Camaro also? If so, I'd definitely get it. If not, an aftermarket exhaust will fix this problem.

If the car is coming out again, I'll be sure to post the date and time here...

Sorry for not getting any more specific video, but to be honest, the exhaust sound was so quiet, that it didn't even cross my mind. I'm sure some of you are thinking I am a Corvette guy bashing the new Camaro....not so! I've owned 35 Camaros over the years and am a Camaro guy before any other car!!! The new Camaro is a great car. I just think it's going to need a tune and an exhaust system to put a really big grin on my face.

so you would say it was noticeably slower than the vette? specifically the force from digging into the power band

A tick over 13.0 sec. and you're through the quarter-mile. It's a rush, of course, but not overly dramatic. Try the same thing with this pair's predecessors of 1970 or so and you'll find yourself in a bit of a wrestling match. Ain't progress wonderful? Maybe yes, and maybe sometimes it's fun to wrestle."

Why would this be a surprise people? It's a car available at half the cost and much more weight. Of course it's not going to jump off the line like a Vette, no one with realistic expectations should think so.

Uh... the 04 Z06 mentioned is about 600-750 lbs lighter no? That would make a difference in the seat of your pants "snap".

I concur. The Z06 and the Camaro SS are not the same car. Let's not get too excited about that sort of comparison.

What im not excited about is, the reaction by all who drive it... which is that the SS isnt all that fast.

With 426hp and 400+lb/ft this car should be a screamer. No doubt that the comparison to a Z06 is retarded, but it doesn't sound like its been all that exciting to ANYONE who has driven it.

Yeah, for me, I don't care what others are saying about it. Seems like they are trying to compare this car to the Corvettes... Of course this car is going to be slower...
0-60 in 4.7 sec is exciting enough considering I have been driving pos suzuki sidekick with a whopping 90hp... lol

It sounded that way to me too. I thought it was the wind but it also happens when he puts in first.

Right. They obviously used the same quiet exhaust for the LS3 and L99.

It's OK, there will be plenty of exhaust systems available. Borla comes to mind.

Once you drive anything fast (Corvette), and drive something slower (Camaro), it doesn't matter how slow it is, it is slower. It is deathly slow if one mentions such. They just mention it is slow (compared to Corvettes, mostly an 04 Z06).

It's like when i ride my Sea-Doo, 0-110kph in 4 seconds, and turns on a dime. Then i get off it, and drive my Cobalt, and 0-110kph in 6.2 seconds doesn't seem that fast. Then i get out, and drive my Caprice Classic, and 0-110kph in 12 seconds is deathly slow.
Get my point?

i get it, but i get out of my 350z, get in an M5, and get out and roll a GTO, and ALL of them feel fast and exciting.
