So I did this mod today (didn't use diodes) and the fog nights now come on at night using auto mode. However, my drls seem to be disabled as they do not come on during the day. Did I do something wrong? I have a 2012 SS...

Nevermind, I just realized the drls do not come on until the car is moving. The mod works just as intended. Now I need to figure out a way to get my halos to match my 8000k hids and LED fogs.

I didn't use diodes... Do I need to?

Some people say you do and I understand why they say that. It just doesn't pertain to this particular situation. Mine are still working great after 15K miles!

If you dont put diodes on each halo, your side markers will come on in daylight... You need to cut each wire going to both halo ( tan/ white right and purple left) put a diode inline( cathode towards halo) and connect fog light on halo side of diode.

I checked again and this does indeed per the parking lights.
I know wiring also, I do avionics install in aircraft. He is right you do not need the diode. But a diode will not harm anything and make a better install.

What I want is the halos to come on with The daytime driving lights and only that, then work as normal all other times. Why is there PWM on the DT lights? Detect is not working?

So my plan is to you 4 diodes then the haloes will not back feed the side markers.

So the halos are powered by a relay??? I doubt it. I'm just asking since a LED doesn't need a relay and you're allowing 12+ to possibly flow back into the BCM.

And are you also aware of PWM (the output of the DRL's)?

And please don't use a test light and Scotch Locks on a 40k+ car..
He's tapping off of 12V, FOR 12V. No need for Diodes, Diodes are used so that if you connect power to a Module, and connect it backwards, the module is protected. (some things like LED's can only have Power connected one way.
