I would bet Teflon tape would tear because of the tight fit.Maybe some kind of Silicone on threads and applied to the outside also.

A whisle noise has got to be a vacum leak, don't ya think.

Thanks, I got it turned now. I drove it around for a bit getting everything warm, and then it turned easier. Then cut the hoses shorter with the elbows facing the engine. The one was just quite stuck when cold. For the LS3 they should be facing exactly the way they are in the first picture in the instructions, toward the engine. Mine were 180 from that and facing the radiator when using the belt tensioner bolt to mount it.

No noise on mine, but mine has headers so I probably wouldn't notice in anyway.

Just re-installed my Valve with some RTV black on the threads. It made a nice seal and smashed out at the bottom with the Valve facing toward the engine.

I did install all the hoses with the silicone wet so everthing will cure as set with no chance of breaking the seal or rotating the valve while pushing the hoses on.

I going to let it cure overnight and see what happens. There is no way it could be leaking now.

Good job. Can't wait to hear how it turns out.

I took my drain off, left the bracket attached, and thumped the can. It does resonate afterwards, but doesn't sound like what I was hearing. I slid a long phillpis screw driver into the bottom of the can to check for anything odd about the tube. It seemed fine, but I can see where it could vibrate. However with it oil coated, I'm unsure it could make enough sound to resonate though the can and the hoses. Also thought I'd mention my hissing wasn't like and air leak hiss it was something else for sure.

It is a mystery that someone will easily solve I'm sure.

I really don't think the hissing is coming from the can. I could grab the 2 hoses and make the sound vary in pitch and level. It's definatly the sound of the gasses moving through the hoes! Don't know what can be done to reduce or eliminate this. I'll try a few thigs with the hoses and get back to you guys!

You cound always use some kind of insulating to deaden the sound I guess. Like pipe insuation or exhaust tape. They seem to use stuff like that on a lot of the other tubing under the hood. I know its not the same and I don't know how it would hold up under the heat, under the hood.

If it is the lines then you could run a larger size over the ones to the can like a cover too. Just throwing out ideas!!

Yea, I wonder about insulating wrap or something like that.

After getting the RX catch can installed, i've been getting some noises also. Sometimes it goes away, other times it's constant. It's real annoying hearing something sound likes its busted. I can hear it from in the car, its loud :(

Is this the sound everyone else is getting too?

The sound stops towards the end, but ends up always coming back...

Yep. Thanks for posting that. Only I never heard mine stop. My engine had been on the highway for about 40 minutes when I finally decided to check it.

Yes......that is the sound I am experiencing also, except mine is alot louder! I've tried to PM Tracy again with no reply as yet. I know he's busy with his move, hopefully he'll straighten things out. I understand how the check-valve works and it is "normal" to have some noise generated by it's operation but these are ridiculous. I inquired whether Tracy may have received a bad batch of valves. Awaiting his reply.

This sucks!!!! I heard nothing but good about these cans and finally broke down and ordered one. It's not even here yet and now I start hearing all these bad noise issues starting to come up. Maybe they got so many orders that they started cutting corners or stopped watching there quality control. Anyway, I'll keep watching for a resolution before I install, that's for sure!!!
