I'm just puzzled I had a 02 z28 with just a cam and it would spin until I let off the gas and that was here in Denver it wouldn't bother me as bad if the tires weren't bald because that tells me that the car used to spin the crap out of them and I'm the second owner and I can't at all

A dyno tune will wake up that car from the dead. You will be complaining about no traction and shop for Nitto tires. My L99 was the same way and I used to wish I had a manual just to spin the tires for fun. Go get a dyno tune and don't settle for anything else. It will be the best $500 you ever spent on that car.

I know it will save the tires but I like to have fun also. Just wondering if anybody else has the same thing.
We are all here in Denver, you will lose about 20 percent of your adjusted HP due to the elevation. However, you should be able to light the heck out of em.
We are all going to the drive event at invesco on Sat the 30th at about 7:45 am so if you want to come out we can perhaps figure out what might be happening. With your mods it would be a good idea to get it tuned for safety sake as well. Plenty of guys with stock set ups are getting them broke loose without much trouble. But we should try and figure out what is going on. Ie fuse pull, is the clutch slipping, or technique. Larry

My automatic V6 will smoke tires with the traction control off no problem. Must be your elevation.

Even down here in the low country these cars can be finicky about the weather. When the air temps get above 90 I can feel the diference in how hard it pulls. Much better with my cold air intake, but she still pulls harder when the air temps are down.

With your headers and CAI you should spin pretty easily. I got mine at Laramie GM and even in Laramie (7200 feet) it didn't take 4k to spin the tires.

I agree, I realized the previous owner was smokin the tires but it doesnt really mean he wasn't just dumping the clutch to do it.

I'm in the same boat, pulls hard but wont break loose...

Check your MAF sensor. Some cars have weak ones designated by a single letter and number. The good ones, or better performing ones, have a letter and 2 numbers, such as K20 or K22. There have been several threads on this.
