We're about to trade my wife's 09 Malibu this weekend. I was concerned about the car seats. We have a 5 year old in a backless booster and a 3 year old in an Eddie Bauer 3-in-1 seat. I drive a Tahoe and I'm 99% of the time who carts them around to school/nanny. But, every so often, maybe once or twice a month my wife will need to do the dropping off if I have an early meeting. She's only 4'10", so I think we should be ok, but I can't imagine all 4 of us in the car at once (I'm 5'10"). Hopefully my 3 year old will be tall enough for the backless booster soon. For anyone my height with kids, how well do they fit back there?

Ya'll enjoy your kids while they are young. My 17 yo drives herself. My 14 yo is 5'9" and can't fit in the back.

I have a 2 yr old son who absolutely LOVES to ride in "Dadda's Vroom" on special occassions. Yes, my wife will tell you that I'm very particular about my car...ok, she'd actually say 'unbelievably anal'. So when we go for rides, the seat protector goes down under the carseat, there is no food, drink or otherwise and the shoes come off before the front seat goes back into position. But I'll tell you, the giggles and the smiles are all worth it (his too)!

And yes, there is plenty of room for my wife to ride in the passenger seat in front of him too. Yes, same rules as above apply...

I have a car seat in the back for my 3 year old. He doesn't ride in the car all the time, but I just leave it there for when he does ride with me.

I've had a car seat in the back for my GF's daughter. It doesn't work well rear facing, but when you put it forward facing it is doable. Penny actually gets scared riding around in my car though. It's really quite strange. She doesn't like it at all, and will cry cry cry until we pull over.

I chose the Camaro over the Corvette because I wanted to be able to drive with my son in the car. I'm looking for a forward facing seat now, but the rear facing seat was do-able if not exactly comfortable for my wife.

My 3-year old daughter has ridden in our Camaro a few times; each of those times requiring a car seat.

And parents, fess up....you know that you also either forget to, or you always put down something between the car and the seat, lest any stray bits of Goldfish crackers or any other crumbly munchie doesn't get all over your seats!

Car seats = sure; snacks = maybe; sippy cups = wait to ride in Mommy's car.

I would like to hear comments on this one as well because I did try to mock up our rear-facing infant seat in the middle and it fit GREAT. I used the the two middle anchor points and it worked out perfect. The only thing I am nervous about is if there is some danger in doing this since the baby seat is on the "hump" in the middle?? It seems quite stable, but not as stable as installing it in one of the side seat pockets. Thoughts??

I opted for a more comfortable car seat for my 4-year old so it's snug in the backseat. It's usually just us in the car so I position the passenger seat closer to the dash. Anyone riding passenger has to compromise with my son for leg room.
