I've frankly been toying with the idea of hitting my "Buy Borla S Type Axle back" button, but have refrained. The SOLO's sound pretty great and seem to have a pretty low rumble/tone..w/out the drone. Knowing my wife as I do...that would be a much better option for our marriage! Standing by!!!

I'm not a V8 driver so take my comments with a grain of salt. I own a 2LT 6MT and I've paired SOLO's cat back system with Stainless Works LT's with SW high flow cats (last Tuesday). It's a little raspy between 2800-3600 rpm WOT. However it makes about the prettiest sound I've ever heard an engine make at part throttle up around 4000 rpm.

I know that SOLO did not design these to pair with SW's LT headers but the awesome thing is I can tune the sound. I'm just waiting for a few hundred miles to go on this car before I start tweaking.

I too was concerned about my wife's opinion but she enjoys riding in my car even more now.

A guy in town who owns an Aston Martin Volante heard my exhaust on Saturday and absolutely loved it saying it's the best sounding 6 he's ever heard. I wouldn't say he's exactly a friend, our kids go to school together and his mom is my nieghbor. He seems like a cool guy. We were at an autism benefit (outside) and he heard me pull up. A while later he came up to me and started asking about the car and what kind of exhaust I was running on it and asked if he could hear it. He mentioned that he had had a Viper before the Aston and loved the speed but thought it sounded like garbage (he used a different word). He joked that he might still have it if it sounded as good as my car did.

I almost wished I would have put my SOLO exhaust on first sans the headers just to hear what the headers are doing to my sound. Oh well too late now.

Inside it doesn't seem that loud but outside at WOT it seems like there is no way this set up is street legal it is that loud. I live at the bottom of a steep hill so I really have to watch it leaving my neighborhood. Gotta have enough speed and keep it in 3rd otherwise im prolly pissin ppl off.

I think my set up could sound better in certain areas of the rpm range and I think it'll improve as the the sytem coats. Shouldn't take too long with the high flow cats. This is an excellent product though. I was down to deciding between ARK, Corsa and SOLO. Not sure if the other 2 would have paired as well with my headers though. Plus they're considerably more expensive.

PS took it to Joplin yesterday to help out with the clean up effort which BTW is far from being over. News reports pictures words cannot prepare you for what you will see there. They can still use a lot of boots on the ground. Anyway that's a 2 hour trip each way and I didn't regret one second putting my exhaust on. I even let my oldest son drive and rode in the back seat (which wasn't as bad as I thought it would be...wasn't great though) and i still didn't find the exhaust to be drony or bothersome.

Will you have a non-J pipe cat back system available to fit the gm gfx kit at that time ? Finalizing my purchase choice, want to make sure I have all the available options covered before I decide.

Just curious, why wouldn't you want the J's? If the main reason for them is to eliminate drone and better refine the note, what is the advantage of going without?

Listening to the video clips, I liked the tone a little better (I know, I know, vids don't do any justice) and also- I LIKE the in-cabin sound, not a drone, which I wouldn't expect regardless with an LS3, but the sound of the exhaust and engine.

My JL system is PLENTY loud enough to compensate for the exhaust volume... what can I say, I like it loud; loud music, loud exhaust- inside and out!

Get the J option, you can take the cap and mid part of the J off and put the cap on where the J comes off the off the main pipe eliminating the tuning of the J pipe. If this does give you a drone you can always re install the rest of the j pipe. This photo was off my coupe not my vert but you can see the clamps by where the J comes off the main pipe. You can move to cap to there.

Expect both kits to be released by the end of June.
