a dealer tried to sell me some stupid corvette instead of ordering the camaro!!

Dealer told me that they are getting their V-6 car this week or next and they were told to put a cover over it until the May 6th unveiling. He said he may have 4 of his SS orders in then also. One thing was interesting.....he said that of the 4 that were picked up, they were not in the order they were ordered in. They were just picked somehow, I thought the dealer had some control over this. Oh.....and of course one of them was the general manager's order was first on the order list but his got picked up 4th on the list so Im really confused.

There are quite a few dealers out there that won't be letting their customers take delivery before May 6th (obviously mine's not one of them), but I highly doubt there will be any penalty from GM... If my dealership does something on the 6th and wants me to bring it back to show it off, I will be more than happy, but if they try to get it back, they will have to pry it out of my cold, dead hands.

Talked to my dealer today, and more or less said that they weren't sure if they'd get it before May 6th but they said it was going to be there hell or high water for their local gathering. They're then keeping it as a test drive vehicle, which is spiffy. I can tell that the guy wants to sell me one really bad, though..

"So, when do you want to order, we can st-"

"I've got until December.."

"Oh.. well.. wanna test drive it still?"

"Uh, yeah?"

"COOL!"

I received an invitation from my dealer to attend an official unveiling May 6th at 4 PM. Invitation is RSVP with prizes etc. (I already have a Camaro on order so I think it's great to be invited)

I was #2, but I was pulled first. My dealer told me the same thing. He was not sure how it happened, but I slid to the front.
