I put a shopping cart up tonight at Sam's because someone was to lazy to push two more parking spots. What's wrong with the world today?

I got tired of all the cubic fussing so I just put a 7.0 liter in my Camaro, and it's probably not exactly 7.0 liters, but no one cares so it's all good...

Literally interpreting the question, then yes, 6.2L = 378.347213 cubic inches

But, I think the question is implying what is the displacement of our engine that is listed as a 6.2L -- The 6.2L isn't exactly 6.2L -- like many other engines, it's been rounded.

It's 6,162 ml/cc.

Use 4.06 x 3.62 for Bore and Stroke then multiply out by 8 cylinders to get the actual engine displacement.

Disp = (πr²h) * 8

Where
r = 4.06/2
h = 3.62
That could be true only when the engine is new , after a few thousand miles the engine gets bigger , go and open your engine and check the dimensions !!!BORE X STROKE , at least the bore will be bigger !

Old friend, you having said that immediately shot the old adage about no replacement for displacement..

In your scenario, i would rather have the replacement... As it is, right now I'll stick with the displacement...

Off topic a bit, but, when a cylinder heats up, does the bore increase or decrease...??? The OD of the cylinder wall will certainly get bigger, but what of the ID...? It's parts of the OD, but metal expands equally in all directions if it is all heated equally...

So that will say that the displacement decrease in the summer too??? or when the engine gets hot???

If you're going that route, then I'm going with Virtual Displacement due to FI and increased VE... so mine is > 6.162L

Well that does it then.....I'm taking the car back and accusing GM of false advertisement by saying it is a 6.2 liter, when in-fact it is not.....I will demand a ZL-1....Oh wait, that's advertised as a SC'd 6.2 liter right? Oh whoa is me!!!!!!!!!!

I thought this board was for asking questions and getting answers from knowledgeable camaro enthusiasts. I think people like you on this board that bash peoples questions with smart ass comments are wasting everyones time. Maybe you should google " HOW
DO I KEEP MY COMMENTS TO MYSELF " Im sure you will find the answer.

When using foreign measurements, the manufacturers round the numbers upwards. Our 6.2 liter engines are a little under 6.2 liters. 6.2 liters would be 378 CI, our engines are 376 CI, read your owners manual.
