there's only ONE radar detector worth using .... and it says VALENTINE ONE on it! Until you use one for a bit and see for yourself. It's AMAZING. It's hard to explain unless you've had other brands and then had a V1. I'm getting one for my new camaro no doubt.

The Valentine was a great detector but not anymore. There are newer detectors out that have better range, more sensitive, and cost less. The only advantage to the Valentine is the direction pointer. Dont really care which way its coming from just as long as I know its there. There are many test taht have been conducted to prove this point that the Valentine is no longer the top model.

Just because the '10 Camaro is coming out doesn't mean that the 1st-4th gens are complete wastes of money and have no value to the individual whatsoever.

See what I did there?

But can you sync your cell phone to the AM transistor radio in a 1969 Camaro?

j/k

Valentine 1 is the only way to go, which State are you in, do the police drive around with their radar on all the time? are they coming up from behind? is it just a construction sign with radar attached? If the siginal comes from behind, the front facing radar will not have a warning quick enough, warning goes off do you look forward or in your rear view mirror? V-1 tells you front side or rear. If it's front siginal then changes to rear, you just passed it, how will other detectors tell you that, my family has 4 cars and four V-1's, will get one for the Camaro.

yes but we are talking about detecting technology, not cars.If thats the case im guessing you still use a motorola ultra classic cell phone, that doubles as a baseball bat,or brick

i gurantee you that the bell RX-65 will out perform the V1,especially when the officer is on the far end of a twist in the road(the ones when you come around and when you see him its too late. I mean really,we are not flying jets, there is no need for a gimmicky arrow. If you need to rely on arrows to tell you where the cop is then well, you need to pay better attention to the road .

I use a Beltronics RX65 model and it picks up front, back, and from the side without any problems. If you are going to spend the money there are better detectors out there now. Just do research and you will see there are several now that are way better than the V1. Better distance to detection, better sensitivity to all bands, and even gps added so you can block areas you know to be a false readings. Yes I see what you did there you made a bad analogy between a classic car and an electrionic device that is there to keep your ass out of a high dollar speeding ticket. You buy a Camaro because of what it means and is,a piece of history. You buy a radar detector to warn you of a self inflicted financial raping. Does it really matter which direction the arrow is pointing? When it gives you the first intial warning you slow down, which is the whole point to having it. Who cares what direction its coming from. There are Beltronics, and Escort detectors proven to blow the V1 away for detection from all directions, and distance in all bands. Why spend money on an inferior product for more money? That is the point right to not get the ticket. If there is something that has been proven on multiple testings to do a better job then why would you buy a lesser model.

when the radar is behind you the siginal must bounce off of something in front of you before it hits the front of your detector, how far ahead of you did it bounce? if you are behind a semi real fast, if its the bridge 1/4 mile ahead of you, thank the officer for your ticket and drive away.

One of the Bell's is supposed to have a bi-directional sensor to detect radar behind in addition to detecting laser from both directions.

I like the arrows and the threat count on the Valentine, but I like the GPS features on the Bells.

I have a very inexpensive one now so the threat count and directions will not be missed. The GPS features and how they learn that some signals are not threats will probably lead me to the Bell or Passport, most likely the Passport because it autolearns those false alarms.

Valentine One, 360 degree view, can look past hills and bridges. Can detect a radar from over a mile away, which is more than plenty of time to slow down. It can also detect the radars, which use laser. You won't regret it. I've had a Radar detector since 15, only cause my parents insisted. They are such smart people!

Here are some places to read up on radar detectors. He's a radar gun trainer for cops, and was a traffic cop himself for many years.he also tests radar detectors
