Yes I am excited about my SS...but none the less concerned with knee room in the SS power seat version..........too!!

Signed,

Still Concerned,

Hoss
Fact: the battery was engaged and power seats were functioning. There was plenty of knee room between the door and the steering wheel; it was a little tight between the console and the wheel, but not uncomfortable in any way.

Pics should be up tomorrow.

Full specs: 6'8", 220lbs.

I sat in the Camaro at the Atlanta Auto show and was amazed at the room. I'm 6'4" 340lbs and I had plenty of room. Enough room for my 4 year old daughter to sit behind me. I think everyone that has concerns with size will be pleasently surprised. I had alot more room than in the 4th gens. I sat in a CTS-V also and freakin loved it. Basically the Camaro has the same amount of room in the front seats as the G8. Enjoy!

Thought some of the taller folks would find this helpful.

With the seat all the way back, there is absolutely no rear seat to speak of: I know us long-time fans will appreciate this since it is how it the was and still should be.

Also sat in a CTS-V. No issues. Drooled over, but did not sit in, a ZR1.

Took some pics. Will post if reqested.
thats good to know i am 6' 4" and i have issues in my brothers 02 camaro(knee hits the dash while shifting).

Thank you very much for the post, I've got a lot of hope for this car as @ 6'6 the only C5 Corvette I could sit comfortably was the convertable & I cant fit comfortably in any of the C6's :(

That's ok, I'll need a back seat at some point anyway, and after reading the good reviews here sounds like this will do the trick!

My only question was to clarify, was this with the cloth interior? Was it power (are they all? Sorry just decided recently I'm going this route & havent seen a whole lot more outside of the chevy website yet).

Thank you all & looking forward to when I can sit in one

I'm 6' 7" and this is very good news! I actually had a dream...correction NIGHTMARE that I got my car delivered and sat in it and couldn't fit at all. :( Needless to say, I woke up in a sweat.

Thanks for the report! I don't know many people my size or taller in my area at all (Dallas-Ft.Worth). All my fellow tall friends are on this forum and will eventually drive camaros!!! Sweetness. We should have a "tall" get together. No offense to the vertically disinclined here.

One thing that a lot of us taller guys will have to consider is the amount of available headroom in a sunroof-equipped car should you need to wear a helmet and sit in an upright driving position for track days...
I'm only 6'1" and I can tell you that I cannot achieve a proper driving position for road racing in a sunroof-equipped car.
Maybe I can technically "fit" with the driver's seat back far enough and low enough, but I need to sit closer to the pedals for proper leverage on the clutch and being that low doesn't afford me the line of sight I require on a track.
I spent about 1/2 hour in a sunroof-equipped 2SS on Saturday with my helmet on trying to figure this out - and it ain't gonna happen.
I will definitely need to "try on" a car without a sunroof while wearing a helmet and if that works, come to a decision about how badly I want (need) a sunroof, considering the very small percentage of time the car would be driven on a track and whether or not I would be prepared to sacrifice the sunroof feature.

Best regardSS,

Elie

Has anyone sat in both a cloth & leather interior on an SS to see if there is any difference in height?

I know the leather has a height adjustment but not sure if the cloth in the 1SS does, anyone know?

Thanks!

As he got out I noted that he had the seat fully upright and as he was getting out he said this and I kid you not.

"Well I guess I will just have to stick to my Miata because it is way bigger and more comfortable than that piece." I had to laugh at the obvious hog wash that had just come out as he said it as if he wanted the crowd to hear it and run away. I got out and had to say something, so I did in a nice way. Over the roof of the car I looked at him and said "give it a chance, if you let the seat all the way back and tried sitting a little less that 90 degrees vertical in the seat you might realize that the car is quite comfortable."

He then looked at me and said " I am a tall guy, much taller than you and I can't fit in tiny little cars like that."

Call out time. My response:" then why did you say that you need to stick with a Miata...and by the by I am taller than you at 5'-10" to your 5'-8".

His response...Fanboyism..." I like Japanese cars because they are better built by people who actually know how to build a car unlike American's."

My rebutle: "You mean like FORD?" ....wait for it He lashed back and said "Mazda isn't built buy Ford they are their own car company."

He said this infront of a crowd of people...of which several girlfriends of the guys standing around the Camaro started to laugh hysterically and loudly telling him that Mazda was owned by Ford and built here in the states for the most part.

He bashfully slunk away as everyone laughed at him.

Lol he got Owned!

I sat in the camaro and I felt like i was sitting in a g35 ( headroom wise)
it kinda felt cramped but i didnt adjust my seat that much so
