Psshh...what crap that is. Adding shorty headers which require no tune and have never ever shown to alter AFR or anything so negatively to harm the car....and he says the warranty is toast!?
Heck, I know for a fact we have other members here with dealers that installed the shorty headers for them.

If you alter the flow in or out of an engine it affect the AFR. That is why it has the potential to increase the power output of the engine. The ECM and injectors can adjust for some increase in flow but at some point you will go past the ECM and or injectors ability to correct. When that happens your CEL will come on and show lean mixtures on both engine banks. If that happens and you do not correct to get the AFR back into specs, then they could deny a warranty claim based on damage caused by lean mixtures. Now from what I have seen on the AFR's on the llt v6, they are actually too rich from the factory so you can probably get away with some upgrades and still not throw a CEL code. I know some have done CAI and shorty headers on the LLT and have not thrown a CEL code but other have. To correct a lean condition it will require a tune and at that point with all that stuff on the car it is a battle you have to do with the dealer if you want them to do the warranty work. Keep in mind your warranty is with GM not the dealer, so if you are not getting the results you want from your dealer, then try to go direct to GM. But I have a feeling GM will listen to the dealers recommendation and once you get a bad one it may be linked to your VIN number and may make even going to another dealer tough, especially if they do what they are supposed to and report the ECM coding prior to doing warranty work.
