The suede keeps your butt from sliding around in hard cornering and the suede on the shifter keeps your hand from slipping off during aggressive shifting and the steering wheel has it again so your hands don't slip off. So the suede does have a purpose. Most high end sports cars have some type of material other than leather like alcatra for an example for the same reasons.

I'm just wondering....the vents on the hood, do they open directly to the top of the engine? If so, and you get caught in a nice downpour, I'd imagine it wouldn't be too good to have water just steady pouring down on the engine now would it?

I'm def gonna have to check this car out when it hits the showroom floors. I've got my mind set on getting a used Z06 when I make Captain but I have a lil time til that happens and you never know. The only problem (if you consider it a problem lol) is my garage would consist of 2 Camaros and my motorcycle and I'm hoping to diversify lol. Time will tell...

PS: Love the suede, hate the steering wheel.

and for the others who didn't know if you look closely below the shifter there were 2 more buttons and that is for you exhaust so when you dd (daily drive) you can have the exhaust quiet and when your having fun or at track, you open up the exhaust

50k+ car and still they have the ugly freaking radio! Now a ugly dash and steering wheel to match. Such a shame too..

You need to go visit the OFFICIAL GM/Chevrolet site with the ZL1 pictures and features...hence, you will see the features of those buttons by the shifter and the technology on the shocks for those buttons! Gotta love that camaros always get the handme downs~

On a side note check out the ZR1 on the website as well...its has a video of the ZR1 running in Germany on the test track for 7+ minutes of performance glory! 1.6g turn and running around 186 mph down one strech...was fun turning up the volume and full screen view...still prefer a camaro though over a vette'

Yes, another camaro5 member pointed that out to me while the ZL1 was on display at chevy day at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Cheap construction, hope they improve this before production.
