If it helps. All I paid my dealer was the 2k deposit. The financing will all be done once the car is on the lot. I would not feel comfortable financing a car that you cant see yet.

Is that right? Does your receiving dealer in FL charge you any fees for that? Or are those also taken care of?

No there are no incentives on a car that isn't sitting on the lots. If/when there is a large surplus of inventory in the 50 states, you'll see some incentives....and my guess is there will be some more price increases before then.

Scotty, do you have any insight into the rumor GM is reconsidering the original thought of using the turbo charged L4 or less sophisticated V6 for a base model in the future? We know it is not going to happen to '10 model, but you never know '11 and beyond.

Almost 50 posts and still it's a pretty short list! Looks like I ordered from the right guy (not that I had any doubts!)

I feel like there are a lot of bogus dealers out here in MA. My dealer emailed me this morning basically telling me he is not going to order my car until I finance through his banks.

That is crazy man. You don't have to finance it at the dealership.

Well, since I've got another car that I'd like to trade in, it makes it a bit difficult I guess? I'm not the most experienced car buyer... but talking to some dealers in the area it makes my mind boggle.

Why do some want 2500 in a check that's non-refundable, 0 discounts, and have no idea when I'll ever receive my car.

Blows my mind!

It should be simple:
-I drive to my local dealer.
-I place a deposit with the dealer for a special order Camaro, hoping for some of the discounts I am eligible for.
-Negotiate a trade-in price for my previous vehicle (subject to change upon my Camaro delivery).
-Myself and the dealer occasionally exchange emails or phonecalls to let me know the status of my order.
-Upon delivery, drop off my trade-in, and provide the dealer with my Credit Union check.
-Burn Rubber on my way out.

Why is this so difficult???

Because you like me must be being punished for things done in a past life. It certainly can't be because of anything I've done in this life...

This is simply not true. All the discounts have already been stated by Gm that they officially will be available to the Camaro. I am getting either supplier discount or employee discount and have it in writing by my dealer that it will be honored.

My dealer honors all GM discounts. In fact, they double-checked with me several times to make sure I wasn't eligible - because until 12/31, I was eligible for FamilyFirst.

We honor all discounts here, but everyone who has been in this buisness know they change every month. This month they may not be available and those who get their cars this month may not get it, and it may be available next month for those customers and they will get it and the next month they may have a huge rebate and the guys who paid more the previous two months will be mad.

You're jumping all over the place with your responses. I guess you have no idea what you are talking about. At first you said they don't exist, now you've changed your tune saying they will be gone one day.. Whatever floats your boat. The only time you will not be able to get a discount is if the dealer refuses to accept them..plain and simple.. And there are plenty of those around..

He's trying to make a justification on why HE does not honor GM discounts and other dealers on this board does. He first said that they don't exist. Scotty tells him that he honors them... now he's changing his tune.
