ive been to a few shops in houston...
G Force did my exhaust and they have a really nice shop, but everything else was quoted a little too high. They do solid work tho. Customer service was a tad shabby but I just wrote that off as them being busy with the "top dollar" builds in the shop. 510, They put on my torque converter and helped bolt down some loose ends on my exhaust. My only complaint was their shop was rather small, but they are expanding (if they havent already) and their customer service is excellent. Matt and Randy are cool dudes and very willing to help. I am considering having some more work done at their shop. ARD, they did alot of work on my car. Fixed some tune issues I had with a prior mail order tune, ported heads, cam & LS3 conversion, new clutches, and some other transmission work. Price was the lowest of all the ones i got quotes for, but the quality of the work was still quite good. Owen is a good dude. It took a little longer than we planned to finish the build, but we also had some stuff come up. In the end, Owen kept the shop open late for me to pick the car up since I couldnt leave league city until late that evening, and I HAD to have the car that day to drive back to Fort Rucker.

Being the guy that blew the center section out of his clutch and was at the mercy of ARD and the H-Town Camaro Crew and lived to tell about all I have to say is very good things about both organizations. All good people and ARD did great work on the car getting me back on the road within 24 hours. Owen pretty much diagnosed the problem with cracking open anything, he and they know their stuff, I recommend ARD.

There are a lot of "good guys" in the business of owning/running performance shops. Most are car guys too driving highly modded Corvettes/Camaros/Lambo's/etc. I've not had any work done at ARD but you've already heard good things about them. I have recently had Jeremy over at PowerFab do two tunes and some mods. I am very pleased with the work/customer service/pricing. His tuner, as already mentioned, is knowlegeable and won't quit until it's right. Took several hours to get mine the way we wanted it (and the real problem was my fault as I needed more cam). Just someone else to check out. He's located where Fastlane used to be on FM1960 near Jones Road.
A new four lift shop staffed with former Fastlane people is opening soon on Jones Road. I can't say too much since they may still be employees of Fastlane.....but it looks like they have a deep pocketed investor funding their buildout.

A few of us came down from DFW Area for the Texas Camaro Nationals after an invitation from the FANTASTIC H-Town Camaro Club. My buddy broke his clutch during a run down the track (which had been installed a month prior by another shop). Owen from ARD had never even met my buddy prior to this event and helped him out tremendously by towing his car back to his shop LATE Saturday Night and getting him back on the road the next day (Sunday).. You cannot ask for better customer service from ANYONE... All of the guys and gals at ARD & H-Town Camaro Club are an awesome group of people.. You won't be disappointed, so give them a try !! |

Try www.hennesseyperformance.com, their shop is in seal, tx but they do great work. Not to say there are not plenty of people that do great work, but so far the only complaint I have had is in regards to snail mail when dealing with Hennessey. When I got my HPE650 parked safely in my garage I noticed the check engine light was being thrown. They had me ship back my ECU for a free re-tune, but of course the mail seemed to take forever as I sat by my door waiting to drive my new toy

I would recommend serioushp (http://www.serioushp.com/), these guys have a great experience and their prices are very reasonable.

One year on the repair work that ARD did to get me back on the road, not a single issue, I'd still recommend ARD. I also want to add I was basically a stranded motorist 4 hours from home, they made sure I was taken care of, along with my car.
