Ok I'm confused. R u seriously saying that the MTX sub enclosure you pictured above is factory? I hope I'm misreading otherwise I have to explain to you what the difference is between a GM authorized accessory VS GM factory part.

Now if your talking about factory look then that's another story. I don't have ******** but they also color match you car. So yet again I have no idea what your saying.

FYI I have 3 yr warranty on my aftermarket install and it's plug and play using ********s harness.

I'm all about a clean install. I like the OP's setup for sure. This one is also nice $165 for the box, can fit ANY 10" sub. Mounting depth of 10.5

.... in the works.... it is EXACTLY what this sub setup needs... once I get it figured out I will post it up. Not a super high priority for me, so it might be a couple of weeks. This isn't a bad system, and since I have one I feel I can say... overpriced, but when I ordered the 45th, I wanted "factory" installed option as well... so I paid for it... after the fact I would do something different, but I think with a remote "gain" knob I will by MUCH happier with this setup.

Not meaning to sidetrack the post... to the OP... congrats man!

I wonder how something like that, just adding a sub in the side, would compare to the MTX sub/amb box specifically in a '12 BA?

I've found the '12 to sound pretty good, just lacking a good bass hit. To me the BA front now sounds good, center isn't overpowered... so they must have done some tinkering to the balance of the BA for '12. Still not
a lot of power/good sound coming from the rear.

Would that GM MTX kit improve the overall sound even more along with adding bass? Or if you just wanted a bit more bass hit, would just a simple sub on the side do it? I'm wondering if the MTX improves the overall sound from the rear and the rear speakers too, or just adds bass.

I doubt they help with BA. The MTX kit is also only being fed 200W. If your looking for a single 12" you'll be good no doubt. I've always ran a single 12" in my SUV's ... I have a single 12" RE XXX sub on a Hifonics 1000W monoblock. I'll drop to a high quality 10" for the camaro to help eliminate trunk rattle etc... If you don't like the BA, upgrade, nothing beats a crisp clean sounding system. Even in Hi's and lows/bass.

I have the gm set up as well and like it, i dont need earth shattering bass, this fills out the sound nicely, yes sub thump has great stuff, but i hate to see others knock someone that doesnt go ********, seems a lot of people on this forum get so darn loyal or fanatical about a certain product or company,. as if they are the only product/company that is worthy of using, just a bit silly i think, but as for the remote bass knob, I am thinking doing that also, looking at it, since it is able to be unscrewed and can be replaced, I am thinking either use the original knob and plate and run wire to the front where you want it and mount it, but would be beter i think is to find a after market knob, and just unscrew the factory knob, remove it, and continue the wires to the front of the car and connect to the new bass knob, I would think most any bass knob would work? I am just not sure how many wires are connected to the bass knob, will find out soon!

I'm not knocking for not using ********. I'm knocking people for their wiring excuse to go with this gm approved accessory if there is plenty of other options in the market. If u want to overpay for that kind small of level of bass go ahead. To each their own so be happy. It's just an opinion after all.

any pics of install on 2011-2012 vert? GM says the kit works on these models, just sits further to the aft to clear top when in down position.

I got as far as pulling a speaker out of the box (to see how the adjustment knob is wired internal.... PC board... I am not going to mess with it on that end... Like you said, you can pull the 3 screws out of the installed knob, and remove it... I was originally going to just buy one for "X" brand amps... but when I talked to the guys at the local stereo shop they thought that the adjustment knobs were pretty specific to the amplifier... who knows if they know what they are talking about... I was hoping to see how many wires were on the back of the knob on the box... but it is buried in silicon... lol

I have pretty much decided that I will just cut it off, splice on a new wire to run up front, and re-use the switch... once I cut it, I should be able to tell what kind of wire I will need... If you beat me to it, please share =) pics would be great too!

I sold my 2011 Camaro a year ago, but took out this same sub-woofer, can anyone tell me if it, see below or pictures in earlier post....

(GM kit #92213214 MTX subwoofer kit 2012 Camaro)

will now fit in my new 2013 Camaro. Also, I'm wondering if i forgot to take the wiring harness out of the 2010 along with the subwoofer. If so can i get a replacement harness. I had Dealer install the sub so i am unsure, if a wiring harness (if needed) is sold in the box with the subwoofer. Thks
