I think a little bit of me died when I had heard the F-bodies were going away. I was mad. Hurt even. I understood why it happened, but that didn't mean I had to like it! I was elated to see the Concept and to have one in my driveway is truly a dream come true.
Thank YOU Scott (and Camaro Team) Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Great post. I tend to think of it a little differently tho. When I read there would no longer b a Camaro in 2001, I placed my order for my SS. I wanted to be sure I didnt miss the boat. For the last ten years I have been the proud owner of black SS, although it's really only a car to admire with 240 miles. I now just need to make up my mind on when to buy a zl1, and yes I will drive this car.

I remember the 2001 announcement. It crushed my dreams and broke my heart. I never thought I'd own a brand new Camaro SS. And I certainly did not want to drive anything else.Thank you to Team Camaro and GM for bringing the camaro back and making it the best it's ever been! My dream became reborn in 2006 because of you! (And achieved in 2011.)

I remember being sad when the Camaro's hiatus was announced and how bad then I wanted a new SS. Didn't have the cash (kind of like now), but was lucky to be driving a 92 z28 at the time. It's great to see how far we've come and I'm looking foward to being a fifth gen owner. I'm glad we can now have happy announcements to read and I'm looking foward to the ones still to come. (1LE,Z28?)

wow... got a li'l emotional there.
as a kid, my older brother (who I thought was just the coolest ever) was such a huge Chevelle fan, he opened my eyes to the Chevy muscle car. Growing up, my favorites were the '59 Impala & the '69 Camaro & always silently vowed that one day I'd own a Chevy with an SS badge or Rally Stripes (both, if I was lucky). while every car I've ever owned has had a bowtie on it, it wasn't 'til I saw the Camaro concept drawing that owning a brand new Chevy SS with Rally Stripes became an actual goal. After moving to another state, taking a new job, paying off all my old debt and fixing my credit up like new, my five year plan was completed, my dream realized and I now not only own my dream car, but along with that have become a member of a massive community of enthusiasts as well as becoming part of an absolutely fantastic local group of Camaro owners. Thanks for the post, Scott. made my night!

Thank you camaro team. I get bored real quick with cars and trucks I have had over the years. This is the first car that puts a smile on face every time I drive it. I have always bought Chevy and always will.
