There is a guy in my area with a 392 challenger that will rev up and floor it passed you then slow down and cruise next to you till you race, he doesn't seem to notice I am a v6. And secondly I know some one who deliberately bought the v6 because they didn't want the power!

Not everyone lives near a track... Not everyone believes in street racing... Not everyone believes it's either a v-8 or nothing. Having money shouldn't mean you have to buy the v-8.

The v-6 is a great car. I'm sure he bought what he thought was best for him. My dad loves my ss and has more than enough money for one. He bought a 4cyl suv. Because that is what he felt was best for him. Just because someone doesn't feel the same as you about a topic (v-6 vs v-8 in this case) does not make them ignorant. Try to be nice...

Try to ignore all the dill-weeds that try to race you. You don't want to be involved in that.

Also if you show restraint, you are setting an Awesome example to your child. Sounds like you DID show restraint TOO and you sound like a great parent!

it is always a v6 mustang or camaro that wants to race the SS. they usually floor it past me to show off, which i don't get...but at any rate, i'm sure they go tell their friends that they beat an SS

i dunno, i don't care to race them. i mean do they really think they are faster than me and that is something i have to prove? if they really have that level of ignorance, i don't think me beating them is going to teach them any real valuable lessons in life.

When someone pulls up next to me at a light and acts like they want to race, I respond by inching forward, reving it and act like I am getting ready to drop the hammer when the light turns green. When the light does go green the person next to me launches like they are in the race of their life, and I take of normal. Fun to watch :-)

If I was "one of those", I would never publicly admit to being "one of those" because then everybody would know for sure that I was "one of those".
