Glad to see you get it into the 10s. But how much will this set up cost, on top of the 60k plus for the car? There is a local guy with a 2008 ZO6, with just headers and a tune. That runs mid tens on pump gas. I think thats a much better value for the money.

Launch control

We made one run with launch control. The 60' wasn't very good - 2.172 instead of 1.66 to 1.78 for most of our runs. We are making a lot more torque than stock so the torque model used to estimate how much power can be applied for the launch control system is probably off a bit.

Substantially lower on both counts.

700 hp package

It does. The 700 hp package that someone else referenced has a GT9 camshaft and CNC ported heads with hollow stem intake valves and Inconel exhaust valves and upgraded valve springs. That is what is on this car.

Based on the rear wheel horsepower you got what would that convert to for the engine?

yeah his car wieghs 1000lbs less so you are correct as long as you factor in used cost of a Z06.

this price also inclueds labor/waranty etc so you could do this yourslef for less that 12k.

brand new base Z06 is going to set you back ~70k. this kit plus base ZL-1 would cost you 68k os it is not as out of line as people make it.

just like most of the poeple with a GT500 that are deep into the 10's have thousands in mods in there cars.

10's are fast and they don't come cheap.

No disrespect to this thread, but when I see a head and camshaft swap on this brand new ZL1 I can only shake my head. Cut to the chase, put a Jet engine on it and call it a ZL1.

The times are impressive and I respect what you are doing but I think the red car (stock engine) is far more impressive then this car. I say ,get the red car back to the track and keep making laps in it. It will go in the tens at over 130.

This is AWESOME news! I'm not much of a racer, but I know a fast time when I read it. Congrats!
