I hope the Camaro does really well. It would be nice to see GM with a real winner on their hands. It's hard to guage WTF is going on anymore. 14,000 pre-orders sounds like a lot, but then I see that the Honda Insight has 40,000 pre-orders in Japan where sales are even slower in general.

I don't mean that to rain on anyone's parade. And of course, you're in a Camaro enthusiasts board with a triumphant return just took place. I just really hope Camaros grab on past that first model year where you have both enthusiasm and uniqueness.

to answer ur question................i have seen 2 on showrooms, i know of a 3rd thats an SS for sale and i've heard of (haven't seen) 1 on the street with regular tags on it.

this encompasses Milton, WI down to Belvidere, IL and about 450k people.

i've heard of a few local deliveries, but they're not driving them.

I so happen to be getting one from there as well. Dick Jacques is my salesmen I'm dealing with and he is on point. They just had an unveiling last week. Check out the Pics.

I believe I was number 12 and you can see the progress my order has made as per my signature. And yes I live in VA but this will be my second car from the state of Meeeechigan. My wife is from Traverse City, MI if you were wondering.

Anyways, as far as your question goes...like anything else... the hype, buzz, or mojo, will wear off overtime but one thing is for sure everyone will remember this summer as "The Return".

Yeah I beleive I am 14 so I shouldnt be far behind you when were you told you would get delivery. Berger is a big dealer they got 6 cars right off the bat. If you do a google Search on Berger Camaro its kind of like a Firehawk or Roush edition. berger is a big name in camaros, so im assuming they are getting some pull.

As soon as all the dealers have one in their shooroom and cars available on their lots to sell, they will go quickly.
14,000 orders are nothing, pennies basically. GM must sell thousands of these just to pay their CEO's. no doubt the car is beautiful, but there is a little hype here as well. and i think the hype is bigger down south and some northern states. i live in NYC and believe me no one seems to mention the Camaro here. i have friends, car fanatics and no one mentions the camaro.
don't get me wrong, Camaro is a beautiful car and i hope i will get to drive one someday, but in my opinion once the hype calms down a bit, these orders are completed, and there are enough cars at the dealers, the camaro will be just another Mustang.

....oh yeah, and GM will start offering 0% APR

I have a 1 SS and believe me the car gets so much attention every place I drive. I never thought it would get this much attention. People take photos on the interstate, give thumbs up, stop me to ask about the car, etc. It really is an eye catcher for any age person. Young people love it.

All I can say is that this car is helping to get people into Chevy showrooms again. People are associating a beautiful car in their mind when they hear Chevy. Its hard to sell a large quantity when it comes to sports cars but hopeful the Camaro will help to change peoples minds about Chevy and sales will pick up on their other models. We need to get the American people to start to see that Chevy can make a great reliable and beautiful product. I know it turned my eye away from the foreign cars something that has never happened before. I go into my chevy dealerships and there is always a crowd around the Camaro. Its great to see people so excited again. All the foreign cars are starting to look the same.....the prius and insight look like carbon copies. I love the fact that for once we have a car that stands out and screams LOOK AT ME!

IS there a lot hyp and no buying to due to the economy. Or is just the enthusiest that is producing the hype. Tell me whats going on

Thanks Nards44, I think we can sometimes forget that we on this forum have a certain perspective that may not be shared by others. I know people will flock to the car and while only some may buy... I hope they buy American.

It's the hottest thing on the block right now and rightfully so. Give it a year though and they will be as common place as a Mustang.

"I live in upstate New York, No cars around here at none at dealers. talked to guys who have been to dealers and they have said there are only two in new york which i find hard to beleive.

I am from michigan and my dad works a prominent chevy dealer in Grand Rapids. (which i am number 14 on the list with 6 already coming in). He says theres a lot of interest but not a whole lot of buying.

IS there a lot hyp and no buying to due to the economy. Or is just the enthusiest that is producing the hype. Tell me whats going on """

Is this a repeat trend??? Is this why the Camaro was killed in 2002????

i think it is a car for the masses. thats why they gave it the great gas milage, all of the tech features, the nice auto and the top of the line V6, and a great SS package. they are going for all the markets they can get the car into. they want to sell as many as possible. they want to sell to the masses. i thought that that was obvious seeing how GM is trying to make every sell they can. The corvette on the other hand is aimed at people who want a near exotic car, for a third the price. the higher you get in the vette line up, the close you get to exotic cars proformance wise. the camaro is not this way. its still a camaro. they have been know to be afforadable
