usually people that dislike law enforcement have a reason for doing so...
stay inside the lines and the police are your friends.

i know what the are saying with cops i have CJ degree and am in the military so im used to authority. I think people are talking about cops who poorly use discretion when issuing fines, aressts etc.

That is not used for regular traffic stops and probably wouldn't be able to be legitamately used to stop someone. My guess is that the owner (like it says on the plate) is a constable and is using the car for off duty police related activities.

For example....

You all saw the hideaways and wig wags in my car. Well, I could technically go out and work a traffic gig and make some extra money....I could use the red/blues since I am a police officer and not have an issue. So could this guy. But, I'd bet my next pay check that he doesn't go out and stop vehicles in this. My best guess is that his dept policy says that he needs the vehicle to be distinguishable in the sense that it needs decals, etc showing it's police and not a kid w/ money who wants to toss in red n' blues to have some fun.
I don't know how Texas law works with police cars and outfitting, but here in FL, it's illegal to have red or blue lights visible from the front or back. In my department we have several unmarked cars on our force, and with the exception of the spotlight mounted on the driver A-pillar, they look no different than a civilian, including the license plate. There are no visible reds and blues either, at least, not until they're activated. Of course, the deputies in the cars are in full uniform.

I hope you don't feel that way about all cops. I work with some guys who have the attitude you're describing, and I don't care for it either. But we're not all that way.

I do remember Texas Constables driving gold 3rd Gen Camaro's back in the day. They would come into my Chief auto parts store and get the LEO discount. Could of been more colors than gold just remember one, it was a 74 I think.

They serve warrants for local state judges.

i do know at least in MI if you get pulled over by an unmarked you have the right to call 911 and they will confirm that its a cop or send a uniformed car out there.

No i have a few cop friends and family that are on the job i was also a police explorer and have went to school with the intent of becoming a police officer(i went into the medical field instead). And may one day still join the "force" as i have a perfect record and I am able to carry in over thirty states. I am just saying i do not like the cops out there that have decided that they can do what they want. You don't have to look very long on the internet/news to understand what I am talking about. I have great respect for the good guys/gals working to HELP out their fellow man good or bad.
