Sounds amazing...would be nice to see what that package would go for installed. And damn, who cares about the cost of the pakages on the GT500. Its been beat to death. Im sure those buying the GT500 dont care that the ZL1 was 5k cheaper. Just like those buying the ZL1 prob wouldnt care if it was 5k more either. Camaro guys are going to buy the Camaro, just like the FOrd guys are going to buy the Mustang. And why if I damage my car at the track and I going to tell Ford it happened at the track? It happened driving down the road doing some spirited driving

Problem is that with the zl1, dealerships are charging close to $20k over sticker.
Thats real bullsh**. These dealerships sign up for ebay accounts and sell the to those willing to pay that rediculous price. Real nice cars but not wor the $60+k some are charging for them.

A base GT500 is $55K, but you do not get any of the the same performance upgrades that are standard on the ZL1. If you want the extra coolers, and adjustable suspension that it takes to make the GT500 comparable (equimpment wise) and as track ready as a ZL1 is, it will set you back at least $60K.

You see , this is what I don't get. For all those cry babies out there saying that the new GT 500 has 662 HP and the Camaro is slower in a straight line. From everything I've seen the GT 500 is at least $6000 more than a ZL1.

I'm pretty sure these upgrades at LMR was less than $6000. Now this car has roughly 725 HP wich should more than keep up with a GT 500 and for the same or less money
Yeah, and a $400 tune nets 43rwhp on the GT500, so for relatively the same price you have a lighter car with with slightly more power and all the fancy suspension/cooling upgrades available from the factory.

The price tag on the ZL1 that we are seeing is completely loaded. GO out to ford website and build a new 2013 GT and load it with all the options. You are almost at 70K with taxes/tags.

Sounds sick! I noticed you got LED's on the side marker lights and maybe tail lights? If so where did you find these? Thanks

Many people worry about the hyper' pistons in ZL1, but I think they're probably better off because they're oil-cooled, unlike other GEN IV 6.2s (LS9, of course, has the squirters, too). I'd like to see if LSA pistons are different than, say, LS3, but I don't have access to part numbers.

I'm sure LSA is fine to probably to a little more than 750 FWHP. Considering LS3 has been shown to live past 630 FWHP, LSA has enhancements that should take it well beyond that. LSA won't be a rugged as LS9, but LS9 is also not up to 5.4/5.8 standards.
If you still wanted to know here are the part numbers for the pistons from the 2011 GMPP book(seems to still be current):

LSA -12625119
LS3 -19168089

And just FYI
LS9 -19180414
