Works for me!

"In international news today, a group of car enthusiasts simply known by the name Camaro5 stormed the GM Oshawa plant to take delivery of their cars. They left behind only a stack of papers, large amounts of cash, and tire marks in the holding lot."

Well I dont know the total number but at my first dealer I was number 18 for 8 allocations so I moved on. My new dealer had 8 also but I was able to get the number 8 slot. After a week and a half I'm now at number 3 and should be moving to 3000 in a week or two. I havent heard many other dealers getting much more than 10 at a time. My dealer is in a huge market and was number 1 in Corvette sales in his eastern region and only got 8 so........typically I would think that unless the dealer is incredibly large, 10 or under seems to be the norm. I could be wrong but it seems to be.

Intelligent thread

Makes logical sense to hold off on the cars till after formation of new GM - and realize a large influx of revenue - though it sucks for souls who preordered.

Will be nice if ETA for my car shifts from Nov-Dec to Aug-Septembr
IOM will look great in the fall !

I would think that the secured creditors who have a lien on GMs car inventory would not lose out on that collateral after a BK, so dont see how holding cars until after the BK would be an advantage.

When there is a commitment on product, it most likely will not be included in the total inventory before bankruptcy, but it's revenue can flow in if it is invoiced after bankruptcy. If it is marked as sold material, then it's revenue isn't earmarked with liens. If it was, then that merchandise would have to be moved and paid for before the bankruptcy. There are many ways around this and based on this theory, it is evident that contrary to what most want to think on here, GM is actually making the effort, every effort TO get us our cars. That is why suppliers have been prepaid, Oshawa won't close, and production is focused on the pre solds right now. Anyone can disagree if they want, but let's not waste the energy until more comes out in the next couple of weeks. Most sold orders could be built already and we don't know it.

Yea it's not the workers fault the Skynet (robots) did orange peel on lot of cars.

Get rid of the robots and go back to humans shooting the paint then complain if it's QC.

We've aready past 10,000 car's produced, so that would mean only 14% of production are SS's? Based on the numbers he quotes, I think a lot of the info in this article is at least 3-4 weeks old, and a lot of things have changed since then.
Yea, i believe it was written May 7, regardless... they are right on with the production plans.

For those of you who don't know, GM announced about two weeks ago that their Oshawa, Ontario plant will be increasing production by 35% on the Camaro. Which means an additional week of work this summer that was previously scheduled as a plant closure day, as well as an additional 7 saturdays of summer over time. Also to note, the plant is gearing up to redline their production at the end of May, producing roughly 440 camaros per day, or 2,200 per week. So, with current back orders at 19,000, and Oshawa soon to be producing 2,200 per week... you do the math... I expect the order wait times to shrink in the near future. SOME GOOD NEWS.

Yeah, I'd say the math is ......by the end of the third quarter

Add Saturday, and you're at 440 per day times 6 = 2640 per week.
