I had one for about a month... I didn't think it was bad, definitely felt like it had an interesting power band... I had no issues at all with mine. Nice construction, fit well.

What kind of problems are you having with it, and how have you modified it?

To those that say its garbage, have you at least had one before you give it such a harsh judgement?

To fix Idle air temp (Hesitation on take off) and Bucking/Surging at steady speeds, I ran a duct from the lower grill and run it into where the intake tube was on the air raid. Cut it to except a 4in duct. Added a pad to the hood so it seals the top of the intake better. Now the temp stays around the outside temp. I think that's why people say the one like ADM and CAI have work better because of the sealed top, keeps the engine heat out better.

I made some post awhile back about a problem I was having with idle and surging at steady speed, Took it to two Dealers and none found anything wrong, I was at the speed shop one day and brought it up and they told me it was my Intake. That's when I made the changes to it and it fixed the problem.

To say it was Junk was out of hand, It's just a lower end Intake.. For most I think it would work just fine..

Sent from my phone good luck reading it...

Hmmm that's interesting. I noticed none of those problems, and it looks like mine was sealing pretty well against the hood as I could see the pattern in the insulation from the seal...

I understand why you think yours is a turd.

I installed the Airaid in my 2011 SS LS3 6 months ago and could not be happier..Nice fit and finish and I like the fact that it uses the air duct from the original air filter in order to bring in cold air from the outside. I did do the 5-20 fuse pull after the install. I went with the oiled cone. I chose Airaid because I installed one in my 2006 Nissan ;Frontier NISMO 6 years ago and I have never had an iissue in over 6 Years..!!!

My statement that the CAI system produces close to double the gains is spot on and reflects not only what I have seen in my own experience but also what the Jannetty tests you mentioned have demonstrated. Since you brought up his test specifically and I mentioned average HP and peak torque, lets look at those numbers.

Cold Air Inductions

average HP: 4.4 (w/ scoop: 13.8)
peak TQ: 10.4 (w/scoop: 13)

Airaid

average HP: 2.3
peak TQ: 5.9

Concerning appearance, fit & finish, and the warranty I could not agree more.
So without the scoop you're only going to see a HP increase of 2.3 - 4.4??

If i'm correct, sounds like the scoop gives you almost all the advantages

That's the avg hp gain... Peak hp/tq gain for the Airaid as reported by the JRE CAI Test 1 was +9.2hp/+5.9. The CAI brand peak hp/tw was +13.1hp/+10.4tq, no scoop in test 1.

That makes me feel better for my future purchase. Thanks!
