Yeah so back to the mustang and camaro bashing by each person that does not like the other. The point being is the shelby and ZL1 are both great cars and each has it's fault and strengths. Not sure I would call the camaro interior cheap. I think it is pretty decent and the seats are very comfortable.
Now could you imagine if we took the best parts of the shelby and the ZL1 and made a car. That would be something. Wait I should not have said that now the arguments will start for which car has the better parts.

FACT is that the BRZ costs less than half of what we spent on our cars and it's undeniably better. So we both suck. No arguing against it either since the magazine placed it higher.

You want your rebuttal? Here it is: The Shelby starts out less than the ZL1 (not that it matters anyways). The interior in my SS, which is pretty much the same as yours, minus a few details is crap. I love my Camaro and I will acknowledge that is in fact a s**t interior for the price I paid for my Camaro. MyLink is inferior to Ford Sync, this is common knowledge, you are paying for a much better system than the ZL1 has. CUE is great and MyLink is a neutered CUE. There are plenty of reasons the ZL1 was ranked higher than the Shelby: 1. IRS with BWI MagnaRide Suspension Generation 3 2. Comfort 3. Ease of drivability (A.K.A. ability to allow driver to push the cars limits better) 4. Fact that it feels like a sports car, despite weighing more than 30 sumo wrestlers. 5. Brakes So in reality the reason the ZL1 was picked was basically all because of the first reason which influences almost all of the other reasons.. Reasons Shelby wasn't ranked higher: 1. SOLID REAR AXEL 2. Above does not help with (Typical Driver) Confidence) 3. Number 1 does not ride as comfortably as ZL1 off the track or absorb bumps as well. 4. Brakes Last edited by The IOM Ninja; 08-23-2012 at 04:58 PM. |

Did they post the all cars drag race? I'm at work, so I can't see if so.

Ok, they criticize the ZL1 for being heavy, saying a 2-ton car cannot be the best Driver's car. Look how much the C63 weighs... No mention of its weight.

C63 is heavy because its a luxury car, ZL1 is heavy because GM chose to put a coupe on a platform almost exclusively designed for sedans.

I would have no problem with that. I would also remind him I am smarter, better looking, tougher, and more well endowed all at the same time.

That whole article is full of contradictions. They mentioned not including the ZR1 because the 2010 GT500 beat it in the last BDC. So does that mean that the ZL1 is superior to the ZR1 since the ZL1 beat out the 2013 GT500 this time? It's not about performance numbers yet they're running timed laps and complaining about weight figures. From a buyers perspective, BDC is about as useful as manufacturer propaganda (11's all day stock and 200mph top speed, for example). It's baseless and subjective. Thanks MT for wasting 5 minutes of my day so that I could read your article.

Word. The type of guy that buys a "driver's car" is usually the same guy that could care less about standard options and comfort but would rather sit down with a spreadsheet of performance stats before going on any test drives.
