Automatic, know how to drive a manual, but I'm spoiled. This is a daily driver, so remote start for Minnesota winters seemed more important, and rush hour traffic really sucks in an manual. Besides I want to put on make-up, drink coffee and whatever other bad behavior I can in the morning with my free hand.
JUST KIDDING!!!!

I hate when people bring up the auto vs. manual. Lots of people have asked "Did you at least get the stick?" I look at them and ask "Can you drive one?" Most say "no." Then, I show them I got the stick, and say "Well, guess you can't drive it today."
It's all in what you want. Traffic sucks in a stick. Those L99s are not far behind when tuned right. Do the fuse pull. Do the LS3 upgrade if it means that much to you. Ok, now you're there. It's not that much money. A used 2010-2011 L99 can save you some big bank too. Also, sticks are built for the track, yet, people like me, will probably never track their car. So, why have it? Everyone is forgetting the biggest and best reason to own a stick and the reason why I bought mine. TO KEEP YOUR WIFE OUT OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT!

What's the matter, couldn't sleep? But I'll play anyway, and feeling manly or not has nothing to do with it.After 40 years of owning only manual tranny cars, rarely driving automatics, and with a couple of motorcycles and some 10/12/18 speed bicycles thrown in for good measure, to drive anything with an automatic transmission feels downright strange. Like there's a few parts missing and the shift timing never quite gets in step with what I'm expecting. After her 40 years of driving manual transmission cars almost exclusively, my wife still doesn't want an automatic either. Three pedals and a lever that you have to stir from time to time is just the way some cars work. Norm |

Being a double amputee, I'm happy that I have the ability to drive. Auto or not. Plus she is no slouch...

I chose a Manual. For several reasons. I like to feel the power in my hands, a V8 camaro has just always been cooler to me with a stick, been driving manual daily for over 11 years and now find an automatic boring, also as a tech I know the majority of transmissions that need repairs/rebuilds are automatics which are a PITA to tear apart and rebuild with all those tiny parts (stupid check balls) and do not want to be the one stuck fixing it when it breaks therefore i chose the manual which is easier to repair and isnt as likely to break on me. As for other people they can drive whatever they like.
![]() Auto makes you no less manly, its just not my cup of tea and I do love being paid (key word paid lol) to fix them.

I drive the manual. Has nothing to do with being "manly" and everything to do with "driving" my car. I just feel like you ride with an auto and drive with a manual. Does that make sense?

I never learned to drive an automatic.
I live a short throw from work and experience little traffic so went manual. I just feel more connected to the car that way. Personal choice really.

When I drive my automatic I just always make sure that I have a male passenger beside me so I still have something to shift which makes me feel manly.
And with an upgraded stall and proper tune u can tell me how manly ur gear banging was when u finally catch up to me. |
