do any of you know how the auto dimming feature works on this mirror? is there a sensor on the mirror itself to catch the light from the headlights? or is the sensor somewhere else? Does this also connect to the drivers side mirror or does that have sensor of its own?

So basically to do this mod, you need to hook up two wires to the mirror?
You cut the two along side the passenger kick panel to supply the voltage, and the data to the mirror.

IS the pin swap in step 1 for the voltage, or something else?

Retrofit 2013 ls mirror on 2012 ls, straight plug-n-play

Just got the mirror (Frameless, manual dim) from DZ28,

Touch button for call & Onstar and all works perfect; Straight plug-n-play, but the wire to the mirror is dangling i cannot put the cover up to cover it,

i am missing a base extension about inch long that snaps in place and holds the wire cover against he windshield.

i was like did i break something? turns out 2012 stock has base extension attached/molded to mirror base. where as 2013 has detachable base extension that can can get unclipped and lost.

No worries, i would either have to find that piece or go with 3m 2 side tape.

Anyone who knows the part # for it? Below are few pics.

I'm confused. Is this PnP or not? The link on Ofer's site makes it look like it is NOT PnP.

Disregard, PnP harness is here:
