This. My wife did this exact thing to her new Traverse. I used a rag with a little gasoline on it, and it came right off. Left a few scuff marks underneath that came out with a little compound.

Don't feel bad Chris! I started my Camaro up a few weeks ago in my garage while I was in reverse (mine's stick) and let my foot off the clutch before I put my car in neutral.

The car jumped 1 foot backwards and hit the garage. Only a small spot on the rear bumper was damaged so I had to fix it.

My girlfriend in the passenger seat slowly turned her head to look at me and said "All we needed was shit for brains to show up and here you are!"

Oopss!

My wife did this to the left front on her Equinox. The latex paint came off with pre-cleaner from "the treatment", but straight kerosene would do the same. Scratch remover took care of the rest. The dent could be knocked out easily by a body shop without leaving a mark, so long as the metal's not wrinkled much, looks like yours is ok.

Just have to decide if you want to get the nick in the plastic professionally re-painted; might cost more than the dent. I've fixed small things like that before with matched paint in an aerosol can. A few grades of sandpaper down to thousand grit wetsanding with a clear coat finish did the trick, couldn't tell it was done (this was on my old '68's).

Firdt off, relax, you haven't done anything that many of us haven't done ourselves.

Offhand I would take a WAG that as long as just the one body panel was damaged , it 'might' cost around $300 or so, but that's just a guess based on stupid things I'had to get fixed in the past.

Don't feel bad, twice in my lifetime I backed up cars in a garage while leaving the drivers door open.
You would think I learned the first time.

I saw that sort of thing coming with my garage...I re-did the whole driveway and back yard, added a large tough shed to get all the garage junk out of the way....Park it in the middle of a "two-car" garage just so the doors don't hit anything on either side....Spent more money prepping for the car than what the car cost...lol

Yeah OP. $h1t happens. I once scrapped my brothers tahoe getting out of a tight parking lot against the wall of an apt complex.

Well, here's my little 'oops' in the employee parking lot - courtesy of a fellow employee. Luckly they did the right thing and told me about it before I saw it. His insurance paid the bill - $1,700!

Cost included replacing the one fender's badging and hood stripes - had to be removed to blend the hood and fender with the repair to the bumper cover.

On the plus side - got all my rock chips repaired and a new (hopefully thicker) clear coat.

Ugg. It meke dem madder when peeple not know inglish gooder then this post.

Dude, lighten up. It took you a lot more time to write your post and response than it did to simply tilt your head while looking at your computer screen. Not everyone is fully computer savvy. I will go further to say that due to their purchase of a 5th Gen Camaro, this forum is possibly the first real length of time a lot of folks here have spent on a computer. I'd MUCH rather see a sideways picture, than try to decipher the broken and incorrect English written by a lot of people that are just quick to point out the fault of others, and completely miss their own shortcomings.
