I sometimes wonder why GM doesn't send GM reps disguised as customers to areas like that. THOSE are the dealers that need to lose their franchise.

Long ways away, but my experience at Classic Grapevine Chevy, TX has been nothing but wonderful so far.

I agree.

Maybe GM and the other domestic car manufacturers should use external or third party "secret shoppers" to gauge the sales atmosphere of their distributors. On the one hand, I assume that naysayers may retort that GM can evaluate their deals by using mail-in surveys sent to recent car buyers.

The problem with this route is the GM would only be getting opinions from people who purchased GM vehicles and not any opinions from potential buyers who were put off by poor service.

They should just send GM personal in to ask/snoop around. ANY customer is a potential customer. And now adays dealerships should be offering even more to get people in there. I think that they are relying on the Camaro's popularity to do their work. I mean it goes like this

We have it here..You want it...where else can you go thats closer? If you dont want it,someone else does...I hate dealerships.

I'm with you, man. I've never bought a new car and I'm scared shitless of my future dealer experience - and I'm not ordering until August! The hype should be WAAAAAY over by then, but I know they'll try to eat me alive. I live in Florida too, so it's not going to help. Florida Dealers in general are pricks. The one nearest me (Homestead Chevrolet) is using up all their allocations to buy lot cars that they just mark up.

I bought mine at my local chevy dealer and it was a great experience. I have been dealing with them for years so don't really know what the other dealers were taking for deposits but do know they were marking them up 10-15k over sticker. My dealer took no deposit and sold it discounted to me. I ordered in Feb and took delivery on July 8th.
