I never understood that either. It should be per second. Most likely because all other guns are compared by the minute.

Depending on how heavy the round being fired is, this could be an issue. I imagine if you tried to fire the same size projectile as the OP video from an aircraft, you'd probably knock that aircraft out of the sky.
