Just found this in my manual....

Antilock Brake
System (ABS)
This vehicle has the Antilock
Brake System (ABS), an advanced
electronic braking system that helps
prevent a braking skid.
When the engine is started and the
vehicle begins to drive away, ABS
checks itself. A momentary motor
or clicking noise might be heard
while this test is going on, and
it might even be noticed that
the brake pedal moves a little.
This is normal.

The 5 rapid clicks from the trunk area is the fuel system check. This has been discussed before and verified. It always happens somewhere from 3 to 5 minutes after starting the car.

Is there some sort of contest going on here to find the oldest, deadest thread, and then resurrect it?

Someone revived it today from 3 years ago.

Are some of you people crazy? I can't believe you sit there and listen for clicks, noises and everyother thing. No less you even time them; are they 5 seconds apart or 10? Go drive the car and enjoy it; if it breaks, take it to the dealer and get it fixed.

I hear thumps and clicks especially with the rear seat back down. Figured it was something to do with the fuel system and doesn't seem to affect the car, so I don't worry about it. But, it is a little annoying.

Yup, if it sounds like its coming from the back of the car, its something in the fuel system and is normal.

Haven't read through this so I don't know if it has already been answered yet, or not. It is part of the trouble shooting code. To read the code, visit this site http://morsecode.scphillips.com/jtranslator.html

Did your car come with a radio delete option?

Are you sure it is not just the sound of the car cooling off? A new car may do this more.

OP; Fuel tank vacuum test.
Mine does between 3 to 5 clicks. After about 3 min of driving with little warmup Takes about 2 seconds though, dont know why it would be going on for so long. You will get a CEL if it fails the test as well or if you dont tighten your gas cap to a click.

Mine does it. In fact, if you just start the car cold and sit in the driveway eventually you will hear it.
