As for swapping a V8 into a V6 car, PCM, wire harness, TCM, transmission, driveshaft, differential, hubs, axles, etc. are just the start so cost and difficulty are off the scale, so for those loving their V6 there are so many good power mods now available from several manufacturers, and Nitrous may not be legal in many states, but if done properly it is a very affordable solution. There are also so many bolt ons and the Mace cams and RX cylinder head combo is impressive, but pricey as well.

Like several have posted in this thread, it is kinda cool and unique to have a V6 that beats V8's and gets 28-30 mpg, but if you want or have a v8 then where we run into limitations on the V6 at around 500 or so hp, the V8's we do 600-700-1000hp FI buiilds all the time and havce many street legal 9 &10 second cars out there.

If I had a mods list it would read like this for the last year or more...CAI, home built axle back, custom wheels with 245/50/18 and the trifecta tune. More to come some day almost paid off.

I did come close to the IPF kit after the fest in indy but didnt pull the trigger descided to see them on the road for a year or so. See the long term effect on our v6 platform. Watch for engine and trans/clutch issues resolve if any occured.

Done correctly N2O is quite safe... it's when you try to cut corners or get greedy... Since it's so each to up the HP by simply installing different jets, it's usually the greed that get's people...

I could have bought a 2011 2ss puched hard in the left front for 7gs. Instead a friend bought it for the drive train. Could have had every thing to make a v8 swap work and plenty of parts to sell when done. If done in your garage and patiants to slowly sell off all extra parts plus your original v6 drivetrain I bet you could almost do it for free.

Would have done it if I had a garage bigger than a small chicken coop. Figured need a bare 3 car garage and about a dedicated month of every extra minute of your day and it would be done. Used to swap efi motors into old trucks, jeeps and buggies in years past. Find a full donor and its just turning wrenchs from there. Back tyen I had a four+ car garage annd a machine shop at my house. If I couldnt buy it I made it. Till another day i guess.

I have considered bailing out of my camaro before I spend a ton of money on it ie sc kit from IPF but can't find anything I would raher have to drive. If this is a future mod for me I would like to know honest reason's for the upgrade to an v-8 after super charging the 6.

So why didn't you just ask the 2 guys who bailed out? Pretty much the same as PM me if you don't want to post.

We're way past the RX/IPF beef and we're not going there anymore.
