I have a stupid question, but I don't know so here goes.

If I have a 2013 and my vin is 00968 how are there 1971 2012s? Did they start building '13s before they stopped building '12s?

Or are the numbers sequential per year? I don't think so.

I was under the impression my number was 968 regardless of the year?

Your car is #968 of the 2013's. If you look at your full VIN, the tenth digit is the model year indicator. Your car will have a D indicating 2013. All of the 2012's had a C in this position.

yes! #928 is 1 of 45 white auto. How much longer 'til its broken down further? (by options) Mine has aluminum wheel option, sunroof, and no suede option. I'm hoping 1 of 10 or less.
