Yep, thats what im gonna do. Whats the best way to identify TDC on compression stroke. I was just gonna lightly place a piece of tissue in the spark plug hole and turn the crank by hand. Also the firing order is 1-8-7-2-6-5-4-3 if memory serves me correctly. On this motor what percentage would be acceptable....20%, 10% ![]() Thanks for the help

ive done a leak down test on mine and all came out fine.. less with 5 . and i still had oil coming out the rear main with the check valve in the breather with the RX... making aroung 16-18 lbs boost.. removed the check valve on the breather and have been dry for 6 months...

It is possible your rings have not seated completely yet but I think doing the leakdown test is crucial before trying to figure it out. As you know my setup is extreme and pushes a TON of air at 30psi and I have zero leaks and very little oil in my can after several runs.

Like i said, the first 1000miles with me were pretty benign. But on the dyno tune and the issues with the P0606 and reduced power from the tune. My shop drained a tank of gas troubleshooting it. So the car was taken out and pushed....though not hard because the car would kick out the P0606 code and go into limp mode well before boost. It was the gas pedal to throttle relationship that got corrupted somewhere in the tune......Thanks to Dave Steck and huge thanks to Andy at Squash performance BTw. I just in the past 7 days have started to beat on it hard. With the breather with the checkvalve that did not allow air to escape the oil past the seal was huge. With the check valve removed it is perfect. I have an email in to HKE to call me. Erik was very concerned when he delivered this motor that the PCV and crankcase was set up properly. He knows his shit from what i have researched. He told me on break in nothing in particular was required. Just run JoeGibbs BR 15w50 oil on the dyno then change it out to any 15w50 and have at it. I run JoeGibbs 15w50 synthetic HR3 oil which is high zinc and phosphorous oil. Im gonna pick up a leak down tester friday and go thru each cylinder. What is acceptable % in the leakdown on a race motor with all the best parts money can buy? ****, the F-16 is simpler and cheaper to "drive" ![]()

I didn't mean it as disrespect. I'm sorry if you took it that way and for the loss of your friends. I'm a vet myself. I was in the Adriatic Sea 92-93 on the Kennedy probably at the same time you were flying sorties over Kosovo.

![]() Bosnia was before Kosovo. I flew out of Spangdahlem AB in the Bosnia deal I think it was called Operation Deliberate Force) when you were on the Kennedy. Kosova was a couple years after Bosnia ended.. My memory is a little foggy however ![]() I did not take it as disrespect. Just want to make sure some here dont think its all fun and games and a waste of taxpayer money. America's business is serious as you know. Back to cars!!!!!!!!!

I am watching this closely. I am only running about #10, and I have changed two rear main seals. I have the RX breather cap with the check valve and a catch can, I guess I will go with a breather cap without a check valve.

Is this the monster can or the regular catch can?

Why don't you big HP guys run a crankcase evac tube directly to the collector on the headers?
http://www.moroso.com/catalog/catego...?catcode=13023 Cheap and works well.

I removed the check valve RX breather and no issues with the rear seal or oil leaks under the car at all. I think i am also going to run a line from the passenger side valve cover port to the Procharger air filter inlet for even more flow. My boost tops out at 12psi at only about 5300rpm, i am having pretty good belt slip at this rpm. My tune was done as a speed density tune first, then Pat G did a MAF tune, then enable both tunes so he says i have the best of both worlds and the extra un metered air from removing the check valve is not causing any issues that i can see. Car runs great at any speed.
