Always consult with the company when custom mods have been put in palce like cams, blowers, nitrous, stroker cranks etc.
Stall speed can be looked at as the minimum operating RPM at WOT launch. It will "flash" (being the proper term to use) from idle RPM to the rated stall and the car will take off from there. It is kind of like "dumping the clutch" at that RPM EXCEPT the converter in the auto has the advantage to not go below the minmum operating RPM while in WOT.
There are other things that when launching with a converter that is not to the best benefit to power brake above the stall speed during staging. This is because the engine will just bog off of the line. So power braking a 3600 stall to say 5000 is just going to lower the 60 ft times.Once you drive one you'll know why auto trans cars can be more consistant on time slips.
I used to have an 8 in 4500 stall behind a BBF stroker and it would roast the tires. My radials hated me but the ET streets would take the abuse.
Thanks for the info; Also is this where a Trans brake would help?

thanks for all the great info on the Yank 3200. I've got a TVS-2300 s/c installed with cai, kooks headers and corsa exhaust. I have the Fastlane dual pumps on order and awaiting for them to arrive. Once installed, my next upgrade will be the Yank 3200. After that will be an upgraded cam.

My question is once you install the Yank 3200 converter, arent you limited on what cams you can install that will be compatible with the Yank? If so, do you have any recommendations on what cam to purchase?

Will be using the car mainly for street use with some track time. Any thoughts?

Thanks,
Mike

Increasing hydraulic pressure can do wonders to the A6 also. Will make it feel like a true dual clutch tranny, GTR-like.

A higher stall converter is one of the biggest bang for the bucks you can do to a G8, so it stands to reason it will do wonders for a Camaro too.

A higher stall converter allows you to run a more radical cam since it puts you higher in the rpm range on takeoff and is not as susceptible to "cam surge" at lower rpm. The only thing to remember is the higher the stall speed the larger and better the transmission cooler you will want and better tires/drivetrain components, etc. The SST Camaro is running a converter that stalls it right when it hits the base of the torque band.

Hey guys

A stall will diffently rocket you out of the hole, keep in mind this will put more stress on the axles so if it hooks up you could break a cv.Maggie guys,we dont like going over 3200 because of the avalible tq you have on hand. This helped us set the new irs record in the GTO with a 8.95 @ 154..

I have been running a stall conveter in all my auto's for yrs, they make a stick shift guy very unhappy
