Both runs on a Dynojet, different shops, similar conditions (temp, humidity - etc.). Why was it 12 hp higher? Finally broken in? Different dynos - different numbers? I've heard some experts say that dynojets don't vary that much from one to the other in the hands of competent operators. So maybe mine made more hp after more miles. Others will say - you can't compare numbers from different dynos. You decide.

Here is my perspective on seat of the pants performance. When stock there were days I thought - what a slow pig. Then there were days - what a beast! I think it was as much my attitude as anything. One thing was a constant - the only times I thought - what a beast! - were when I showed it no mercy. High rev starts (usually from a roll in first) and banging the gears for all it was worth. I believe the sensation of power and performance is heightened the more noise and motion there is (loud exhaust, firm ride, low to the ground, vibrations coming up to the feet and hands). A full out assault not only got all those 426 horses fully involved but the sensations increased ( louder exhaust, more feedback from the road). Then it was a beast. If I rolled into the throttle with the rpms low - then the pig showed up. It bogged and did not feel like 426 hp.

Now with the cam/bolt-on package not only do I have more power (22% more than stock) but way more sensation (sights, sounds and smells) especially with the cutouts open! Its a beast all the time - even at idle.
Do not underestimate the effect of barometer and air temp on how the car performs. It makes a huge difference!

I felt a bit unimpressed as well once my break in was complete and I first romped on it. I was like "thats it". So I installed a SLP Magna TVS2300 S/C and that completely fixed the problem. Had my dealer install it which kept the factory warranty as well as bought the SLP warranty. The S/C made the car feel exactly like what I thought it was going to and more. Definitely worth the money. You don't need cams, cai, exhaust, headers, fuel pump, nothing... Pay the money for the S/C, drop it on using SLP or Magna tune and your right at a safe and conservative 500 rwhp, feeling that pull in the seat of your pants all day. Just be prepared to pay a little more in gas and change tires a bit more frequently. I think I average around 14 mpg but I don't get much Highway on my daily commute. Either way theres a reason I didn't buy a Prius. Good luck.

Then you sit in it and pull away. The feel from the drivers seat is lame compared to the muscular look it gives a you look at it.

So, I'll be installing a supercharger in the upcoming weeks. That should help make the feel whole diving match the emotion while looking at it.

A year old, 2800 miles on it, willingly voiding the warranty. What is wrong with me?

I feel that way but Im not going to void the warranty. Or put a blower on it. I like keeping things fairly stock. They can be worth more in the long run

I cant contribute that to myself, There's many cars and trucks that are manuals that I could drive without using the clutch for upshifts. I had a 69 ford F-100 that I never used the clutch much but, with the clutch man, I could bag them through the gears! I had a buddy 10 years older then me He could drive stick but he would watch me and try it himself and say wow, how the hell do you do that so well?. We need to get you into a real racer with a syincromech and watch you go! So thats not my problem

Mine ran Low 13s and trapped over 108 MPH in the 1/4 bone stock. So no it doesn't feel slow to me.

Sure did! When my S/C had to be sent back for repairs, I returned the car to stock. Sure felt sslllooowwwww.. Never thought 426hp would have "felt" slow.

Before the S/C, it felt plenty quick.

I put headers, CAI, Ported intake and a dyno tune on my 2010 ss after I had it for 30 days. Who needs a warrenty? Didn't seem fast enough after one year. I installed an Edelbrock E-Force S/C. What a differnce, 216 HP more then stock(642 HP). Now even that seems slow. It's what you get used too.

These cars have an adaptive learning feature to the ECM. This is way more than just an octane table and fuse pull stuff going on in there.

Some how it stores and overwrites crap and de-tunes itself into mediocrity

Whether you are stock or tuned, you can flash your tune back in and you will see that the car wakes back up after a flash.

It really irks me

This is fact gentlemen

I think I know what you're talking about here, and while at the 3K mark, my car did seem to "liven" up a bit, I think the real issue here is not lack of power, but more a lack of throttle response. I live in the city and don't get to mash on it much, so it often feel underwhelming and lackluster. however, on the rare occasion when I actually get to stand on the gas pedal, I'm reminded that the power is indeed there, I'm just not accessing regularly

I agree with that. I get the chance to open the car up on the highway quite often and you need to really step on it to feel it. Would a ported throttle body make a big difference?

I often wonder the same thing. a few friends of mine have them and they all say the throttle response is noticeably improved, but none are driving an LS3-powered Camaro. I've contemplated it, but with the amount of city driving I do (including the occasional traffic jam) I think having the option might be better since I don't have to be quite as fine when starting from a dead stop and just know that when I really want it to go to mash the go pedal.

My BMW 330CI felt just as fast as my L99 SS is now. Its probably due to weight differences.

Im thinking about getting LTs and a tune because I hate how the L99 bogs down sometimes when you step on the gas. It takes about 2 seconds to shift gears. It must be due to AFM turning off.
