I know how that feels...it's happened to me twice; both times women sideswiped my Mustang in a parking lot. The second time the woman was talking on her cell phone, lighting up her cig, and yelling at her kids, all while backing right up against my rear quarter panel.

I will park mine far and away from everything and everyone, but what worries me is that there are people that will go out of their way to mess with cars that intentionally park far away from everything.

Ok, thats it... enough of these stories! I am just going to keep orange traffic cones in my trunk and create a nice buffer zone every time i park! sadly I have a feeling people would mess with my Camaro on purpose then (cuz people are stupid like that).

What goes around comes around...The a$$ that did this to you will get his one day.

Something similar happened to my wife a few years back, she had a fairly new car (her first) and some $hit stain backed into her at a stop light and took off. She got the plate and description and gave it to the cops who offered little hope to my wife that they would actually spend any time trying to track down the guy. Anyway, to make a long story short, the prick ended up living in the same apartment complex as we did and my wife saw his truck parked a couple days after he hit her. She called the cops, they came out and arrested the guy for hit and run and no insurance. He ended up agreeing to pay for my wife's damages in cash, plus rental car in exchange for less jail time.

You never know when you might just get lucky....

I bought a nice little Buick SkyLark back in the early 90's I managed to drive it home and then back to work that night. While parked in the lot an old clunker of a LTD plowed into my car and pushed it into 5 other cars, I had 132 Km on my car. Over 10k in damages and it was not totalled, the clunker hardly had a mark on it and one old mustang with 200,000 km was totalled the kid was thrilled to death he wanted to ditch the stang anyway. I was told by the insurance company they could repair car and it would be as good as new. So I took the adjuster into the New Car Managers office at the dealership and asked what my car was going to be worth after repairs, I was told it would be devalued by 8k of the price I paid one day earlier. So I told the insurnace they could either replace my car with a new one or find me a used one with less than 5000 km on it. We fought for 3 months and when it was time to start having only lawyers do the talking mine discovered the driver of the LTD was an employee of his own father's company and it was a company car he was driving. We sued the father for letting a 16 year old drive a company car after hours for personal use and for the loss value of personal property due to liable damages. We got $8k on a very fast deal, I am not even sure the kid was allowed to drive under the dad's company insurance. and then went after the insurance company who decided to purchase me a manager's Demo with 3000 miles on it, same color and a few extra options.
