My situation is that I have not had my own auto policy for the last 3 years because I have had a company leased vehicle through my previous employer (Nielsen Media Research) we had a fleet of vehicles through a lease company. I tried to get quotes through Progressive and Geico and the amount per month for full coverage on the SS1 is around $275 and the V6 is around $220. I have a clean driving record no tickets or accidents and cannot figure out why these quotes are so insane....

Does anyone know how to possibly prove or show that I have had insurance through my company's leased vehicles or am I SOL? This is the only reason I can think these rates are so high unless its because Baltimores insurance rates are this bad.

If I cannot get insurance at a reasonable rate of around $150 a month I am just going to have to drive something else as much as I had my mind set on this car.
That is Crazy.

Just gave Liberty Mutual the Inbound Camaro's Vin,
The cost of adding it to my 3 Car Policy was 58.00 Per month. 700 Anual.

Been with them for eons of time, have the house with them, a Corvette and a Lincoln Continental.

I hear its hard to get underwritten by Liberty but I've sent other's to them before and no one ever has been turned down.

I have Amica - live 9 miles from Boston

43yrs - No tix
I have 4 cars adding SS is 5th car and I thought I would get slammed cause of the cat. where this cars falls.

I am paying only $785yr - I asked the rep to repeat and I was amazed.
$500 ded. 100k/100k coverage - under 10k miles yearly for the SS

Try Amica
They give great discounts for multi-vehicle coverage.

That sucks man. Maybe there are a lot of claims being called-in in your area.

I'm 26 years old.

One speeding ticket 2 years ago.

Living in Los Angeles.

$800 per year for my truck... $1300 per year for my Camaro... full coverage.

AAA

My 426 hp Camaro is actually $25 cheaper than my wifes V6 Altima - $485/yr for 100k/300k coverage. I was like, huh? But, thats what my policy says lol. Bet that changes next year. Thank you South Carolina.

Check with GM!

GM offers car insurance, under the brand "Motors Insurance". I am paying just under $900 taxes included a year (about $75 a month). I've had claims but not in the past 5 years. $250 deductable, both way, $2 Million insurance. It's the cheapest insurance I've ever found. (Compare this to Wawanessa who quoted me (in a very bitchy tone I might add) $4000 a year 1 way. Screw them!)

GEICO sales agent here.

Call GEICO for a quote and read the agent this promo code. DO IT.

removed

Read that to the sales agent when you call in.

First off, GMAC sucks. Not competitive at all. I recomend GEICO, STate Farm, Allstate. Companies that are goin bankrupt cant afford to give you good rates. Dont call AIG.

I left geico. They didn't give me the best rate and they didn't seem to care about looking for ways to help me out with my rate like statefarm does. No hard feelings though just business. Allstate doesn't even consider muscle cars.

Baltimore's insurance rates aren't that bad. I moved down here from New York and it cut my rate in half.

Yes it really does I moved from Northern Va to SE DC a few years ago. Was paying just about $1000 a year for full coverage on 99 Durango in VA...once I moved it tripled just over $3K a year..due to all the stolen cars and hit and run accidents that occur.
BTW, I'm now paying $300 a month for the Camaro, no accidents or tickets in 25 years and no multi-vehicle discount, but haven't shopped around yet just picked up the car on Saturday...that will be done this week.

Your CREDIT is also a huge factor. If you have bad credit tell them they may NOT run a credit report on you. (Credit makes your rate drop 80% of the time) Also your occupation, current insurance liability coverage is HUGE, Larger than the zip code. PM me.

If you currently have state minimums they assume you're irresponsible and thus are a higher risk. If you tell an insurance agent "I have 250/500 bodily injury liability limits" your automatuicly less risky than someone with 15/30 limits.

I can explain all in more detail if PMed.
