Why waste your money on diesel?!
Go to a Military Base and buy Jet Fuel! Man I noticed a huge difference and dyno like 100HP! More!

I'm not trying to call this guy out (suzook), but he claims he runs 87 in his SS all the time because most gas stations have 87 in their 93 pumps anyways. Also, he claims it doesn't make that big of a difference in performance. Does anybody else do it? I've always run 93 in mine from day one and read all about the fuse pull. If folks are trying to save money, why not just buy a V6 and run 87 all day? You buy a $45 SS, then fill it with 87 to pinch a few pennies? What are your thoughts?
DRKS1D3,

In my Impala SS it specifically say you can run 87 in the engine with reduced performance results. I always run 91 according to the manual.

Recently I also bought a new Camaro 2LT/RS and it runs fine with 87 but once per month I'll run 89.

If that guy wants to run 87 in his SS then he could with mixed results in performance. If it pings when he hits the gas well that's another thing. I hate pinging in my motors so that's why I prefer the higher octane if I can afford it.

Military jet fuel, ex JP8, is pretty much diesel with additives, and I know you are messing around. Just a little info
