Maybe I should wait for a few chips or scratches on the bumper before asking for the repaint.

Mine is a little light there, too, but not enough to get me upset. Just remember that it's always the completely original old cars that bring the highest dollar. Restorers actually try to duplicate flaws from the factory - especially in the paint.

So...Keep it that way, and it will be worth more in 30-years! : )

On a similar note - for those of you who ordered metallic paint finishes - make sure to take an extra critical eye to paint matching between the body (painted at Oshawa) and the rest of the painted exterior components-fascias, rockers, spoiler, ditch molding, door handles, mirrors (painted at supplier plants).
Color harmony is an industry-wide challenge, especially in cases where there are mulitple suppliers providing painted parts.
Sometimes it's obvious my front clip doesn't match but I knew this would happen going in.

However... What are the possible issues that will occur later on, if there isn't a sufficient clear coat. Are we going to be expecting paint to start peeling from the light housing?
Oh boy... I'm going to have to go out for lunch and check mine too. I've seen this part of the car and don't remember anything unusual but with all the IOMs reporting I need to check.

IOM here, my car has it pretty bad. I noticed it a few months ago. But you can see it unless you really looking for it.

I have it a little but I don't care at all. I find it amazing when people get whipped up over stuff that doesn't matter at all.

Ya, I had it in for the TSB anyway....

Also, I think they have to repaint the entire front now...which makes me happy because it's rock chipped up all to hell already.

I plan to put the 3M Clear coat on it right after it gets re-painted...
