Reading other posts by op she comes off brash. If she's approaching the dealers with the same aggressive posture, know wonder why they aren't willing to help.

Also, I myself wouldn't have taken ownership if it was as bad as described. And overspray onto glass is easily noticed.

And you can't just insist the dealer pay a paint shop. The warranty is for Chevy to fix it, not the shop of your choice.

I hope this gets resolved for you, but you'll have better luck if you approach it level headed.

Clay bar is how you fix overspray....your dealer is right. I could fix it in a couple hours and it'd cost $150.

Unfortunately, yes. Dirt in paint, peeling paint, heavy orange peel, divots, paint runs, and paint touched up by the factory (the kind you get in a bottle at the dealer). I was really interested in getting a C7, but not unless they fix their QC.

First off to the OP, you really didn't give us enough info about the paint issue for anyone to make a recommendation. Now that you have told us the issue with overspray. It sounds like the dealership repaired some damage and you should not have to pay anything. The dealer caused it then they should fix it.

You guys that say we shouldn't expect perfection from a $60K car must have ungodly amounts of $$$ to spare. I however live in the real world and do not have a bottomless wallet. This means I expect nothing but perfection from my $60K car.

Perfection isn't attained on cars costing 5x that. It baffles me what people think they are entitled to for what is, in fact, a low end sports car. Yes, it's expensive, no I can't come close to affording one, but we aren't talking Ferraris here. And even if we were, Ferraris have far worse paint from the factory.

The dealership FINALLY gave up on what happened. They had a radio deal on lot and a TENT POLE hit the left side middle of roof and door. They had us take it to cadillac dealership because he knows someone there to see the problem. We did not blurred spots on bumper and taped off places that WERE NOT noticed at time of purchase. Who thinks a brand NEW car would have left the dealer. Body shop personnel needs to go back to school. Also trim around window has buff marks. I just needed info on who to call, didn't need the BASHING for wanting a nice car! Tried taking pics, will try again. Hopefully since cadillac agrees that SMITH AUTO will fix it!

The roof is past clay bar and was told by 3 body shops that will make is worse. Wet sanded then recleared then detailed.

If I read that correctly you are getting it fixed. Thank goodness that the dealer finally fessed up to what happened. I bet when they fix it this time it will be right. Good luck and I hope for you they do a good job.

Good thing you stuck to it. Hard to believe what they tried to get away with, that is just insane. Hope all turns out well for your car.
