The Absorber is all I use - never use towels, diapers, etc to wash or dry the paint. Mothers Glaze instead of waxing will help the appearance, no wax build up, do it as often as you need.

I polish my cars twice a year but wash them almost every week. Living in the Northwest I even wash my cars in the rain. I also take off the wheels every 3 to 4 months to detail the wheel wells.

Yep, same here. With those 2 washes, I take the wheels off, clean the backs, clean the wheel wells and suspension parts. Then I put the car up on 4 ramps and clean the underside. (Which is what Im doing this week since I took my headers down to get polished ceramic coated) I polished up my mufflers the other day which was kind of a waste because I want to go to a little bit of a louder system, but they look good now anyway! I put maybe 1500 miles on my car for the year. I drive it year round, but I usually only take it up to cruise night every other Saturday, and thats only a 14mi round trip for me. Once we move into a bigger house next year and the garage wont share a wall with my daughters room, Ill drive it more often.

+1 for Dry me crazy! After I sheet rinse and use a small metro vac blower, I can dry the whole car with 1 MM towel. Well, 2 towels. I use an older lesser towel for the door jams and wheels.

CD07, question....

How well will this hold up, or what special things do you think I would need to do to keep it absorbant, if I always use Meguirs spray wax when I dry?

I value your experience and expertise.

Jim

I'd advise you not to do that. That's not what a spray wax is intended for. You don't want to be mopping up hydrophobic compounds into something you want to absorb water. a detail spray is a much better option for what you're describing.

Glad to see you understood I was talking about the DMC towel, I wasn't clear.

I feel that there IS a wax there, that keeps my current wax "beefed" up. Is this my imagination? Any reason not to, other than clogging up my towels?

This is why I use it rather than a detail spray, Would I be be better off using a detail spray? Do you think I am getting any added protection from the Meguirs?

I have thought of using Adams, but frankly, that stuff is expensive, does the new one contain wax?

Who would be another choice with a more reasonable price?

Thanks,

Jim

You're right about beefing up your wax. It just should be done in a separate step and not with your expensive drying towels.

I don't think Adams has wax in their DS, even in the new one. You can dilute ONR to a detail spray.

Appreciate the advice.

The ONR dilutes 8oz to the gallon, that makes it very economical as well.

I know Adams' really dispurses the water when sprayed on, does the ONR do the same?
