If you don't want to buy a new CAI then you might be able to find a used cold air kit on the marketplace forum then either mod the box or replace it. Just a thought.

Not true.... 2SS is the interior package, leather and whistles.
1SS is cloth, like mine. Red emblems mean RS of what ever model SS or RS.

Yes I have seen a 2SS with white badging

There are lots of them. Lots of 1SS cars with the RS package too.

OP, if you have 4 pack gauge cluster with the 1SS one of two things happened. One it was ordered with them or the prior owner installed them.

As long as we're nitpicking, same wheel width would only apply to the V6's. All SS cars (1SS or 2SS, regardless of RS package) have the staggered wheel setup.

Yup I have seen a 2SS without RS - white SS badge. Ours is a 1SS/RS red badges. Gauges come with the 2SS.

I figured the K&N would say K&N somewhere on it. Esp. On the filter. Maybe you are right though. Thanks for the help! And sorry I rekindled the s$&@storm over badge color, RS package and stuff. I knew red=RS. I just was wondering if the console gauges were part of it. Looks like mine were added as they are part of the 2SS. Whatever, glad I got em.

May I present my 2SS/RS with WHITE SS letters. I have leather seats, console gauges, halo lights, and painted roof moldings.

I never have been good at following rules.... Oh, yeah, and a sunroof too!
