While at the IMS Museum for the 2010 pace car unveiling, asked about the '09 pace car diecast. They now say it will be late March before they get any, and from the recently updated on-line store page only in 1/64th scale. It looks like a photoshop so don't know if there will be graphics on the top of the car as well, but I would hope so.

I went to that store that makes all sorts of r/c cars that you build and put stickers on and I asked them when they were going to get Camaro's. The guy told me that transformers had the toy rights on lockdown for a while and they couldnt make them until that deal was up. Me being the skeptic that I am came back a few weeks later and asked a different employee there and got the same answer.

I dont know how true it is, but it explain why all the toys were concepts.

I have both the Jada 1:18 concept and the new Jada 1:18 production, and the production one is spot on - the dimensions are perfect and the car looks beautiful from any angle like the real thing. The concept looks "funny" and unusually proportioned from certain angles like something is not right.

Dimension wise, the cabin appears to be moved back 1/2" (on the model) which translates to a longer hood and shorter trunk. It's amazing that just by moving it a 1/2" can make all the difference in appearance. Kudos to the design team.

Would be nice if Exoto did one. Highly unlikely though since they tend to focus on historic race cars.
