Much better than that awful 'square hole w/ round tip' look from stock! I'd actually consider ordering the GFX kit that way

It's ironic I found this thread because I contacted my salesman today and asked about powder coating the square outlets. He stated that he has a guy who does it and it would probably run anywhere from $200-$400. After racking my brain on a half different things to do, that was my final answer. I thought I would be the first one to do that, but looks like you beat me to it. Glad to see what it looks like. I think that will match my unpainted ground effects on my SIM just fine. I'm probably gonna keep the chrome tips on it and decide after whether I want to have black tips put on and maybe cut shorter than the stocks, but I'll have to see how it looks step by step. I like your mesh idea, but I'm not going to copy you on that because I'll need to be able to clean the black pollution off my unpainted GFX area and I might show my "chrome" pipes, at least starting out. I at least know now that the powder coating will work good and match my GFX pretty well. I might have them do my tail light bezel trims while they're at it, but I'll have to leave it up to them on whether they can take those off, powder coat them, and then put them back on. I've never been into chrome other than exhaust pipes. Thanks a billion for the pics! Looks sweeeet! And you've allowed me to relax my brain cells a little more.

What did you use to remove the outlets? It's not a phillips screw.
edit: found my allen wrench kit and it had some of the right pieces.

Any updates on how the mesh is holding up? discoloration or anything because of the location?

Hi Rob:
I think that I met you last weekend at Car & Coffee. Guillermo told me that you work for GM and recommended that I PM you regarding a set of front Halo headlights for my 2SS. I do not have the RS kit on my car and was toying around with the idea of either replacing my front lights with factory halos or going with xenon amber hi intensity bulbs for both the headlights and the fogs. Guillermo mentioned that I should talk with you about the halos regarding cost and installation issues. Do you know what the factory halo units cost if I were to go that route? Thanks, Rich Rauh |

any word on how the black color is holding up? Is there a circular color difference in the mesh yet?
