Seam welding is allowed in the general rules, so I would think it a safe bet that most if not all cars are now seam welded. Riley builds the Z/28R and I would think they would take advantage of every thing allowed in the rules.
The Boss 302R is seam welded, but the 302S is not. I have a friend who owns a 302R, and that was the reason they chose the R instead of the S model.

Also, the 302R is GS legal, but the 302S is not.
