Hate demonstrates ignorance. It's perfectly fine to not like something because it doesn't suit your tastes. I don't care for a Mustang, not my cup of tea, but that's why I bought a Camaro. Just because I don't care for it does not make it an inferior vehicle somehow, and vice versa. There's a mutual disagreement that goes unspoken with the territory, doesn't mean you can't appreciate a well crafted vehicle.

Folks who identify themselves as car people, but hate certain cars, aren't car people, they're fanboys. A fanboy is a poor choice to be in this day and age when every automaker out there is competing to bring us the best car they can make.
There is no need to hate another car to validate your own. If I were to make a list of cars I would like to own it would be a very long list. Even longer would be the list of cars i would like to try maybe not own but drive for few weeks or months. I would love to try a Mini Copper, Fiat 500 Arbarth, Ford Focus ST/ Fiesta ST, Dodge Dart. They are to small for my life style but would love drive for a while just to have a chance to see what they are like.

Some people just prefer to live in their memories, even if they are jaded.
I'm a person of age, and I don't put my 60's muscle car on a higher level than it deserves. Technology from the 60's sucked and that included my car when I first got it even through it car with front disc brakes and all that crusty 60's technology.

Now my 60's muscle car has front & rear coil overs, sub-frame connectors, front & rear anti-sway bars, 17" rims, big ass disc brakes on all four corners, modern drive train which include fuel injection & 5 speed T5, high efficiency AC, Power Rack & Pinion, huge radiator with twin 11" 2800 CFM fans, and host of other parts to make it safe and extremely fun to drive.

My 60's muscle car does not have ABS, traction control or stability control so I really do have to know how to drive it fast and be safe, which I do as often as I can. My Camaro on the other hand is more forgiving when I do something stupid.

I love all types of cars, but when they start to look all alike that's it for me. I love my Camaro as much as I do my 60's muscle car because they are unique in their own way. One costs twice as much as the other and I'll give you a hint it's not the Camaro even with all the stuff I've done to it.

Long live the cool cars whatever they may be.
